  • Assist Manager Finance with financial input from HR, Operations, and Finance.
  • Support data entry for India in Intacct and align local with global accounting.

Job Summary

CPI is currently looking for a Finance Associate to support CPI in implementing accounting and finance controls locally and globally. You will be responsible for ensuring that CPI’s financial systems and procedures are compliant with our internal policies, donor requirements and relevant laws and regulations. You will have the opportunity to work for an innovative global organization with a highly motivated team.

The Finance Associate will contribute to the effectiveness and impact of CPI’s work by supporting the Manager Finance to ensure sound financial and administrative practices across the organization. You will also work to advance efficient and accurate financial reporting and develop and improve upon internal policies, systems, procedures, and tools. Additionally, you will actively engage with others across the organization to ensure that CPI’s overall financial management & reporting systems and procedures are efficient and informative.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Accounting with outsourced support
    • Responsible for processing business transactions, invoices, trade receivables, and managing cash flow statements.
    • Responsible for maintaining financial records and smooth coordination & exchange of information with various service providers.
    • Responsible for ensuring all expenditures are tagged to the assigned project budgets.
    • Responsible for ensuring reconciliations of bank accounts, AP GL accounts, employee travel statements.
    • Assist with statutory audits.
    • Assist Manager Finance to incorporate financial suggestions from multiple departments of the organization, including HR, Operations and Finance.
    • Any other responsibilities/accounting support as may be assigned by the reporting manager.
  2. Tax and Compliance
    • Support for tax payments – TDS / GST.
    • Support for ensuring monthly tax compliances and filing of statutory returns.
    • Assist in conducting Board meetings and maintaining secretarial records.
  3. Support on CPI Global Finance and Accounting
    • Assist in reconciling the local accounting & Global accounting.
    • Assist in data entry for India in Intacct – accounting tool used by CPI US.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Graduate / Post‑Graduate in Commerce or equivalent. Degree in Chartered Accountancy will be preferred with up to 2‑3 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards including Ind AS, Company and Direct and Indirect Tax Laws & applicable laws.
  • Experience with Consulting/Advisory/Non‑profit/Educational organisations would be preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, advanced Excel, and accounting software such as Tally Prime or equivalent.
  • Experience in stakeholder management.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision demonstrates independent judgment in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with teams – both immediate and geographically dispersed.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, particularly financial data management.
  • Ability to collaborate and use proactive approaches to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Location & Compensation

This is a full‑time position. The successful candidate would work from our New Delhi office. Candidates must have the right to live and work in India.

CPI offers competitive compensation and benefits package. Compensation will be based on skills and experience.
