Job summary

Socomec Sas in India seeks an experienced GL Accountant to lead daily general ledger postings, journal reviews, and reconciliation across ledgers and subsidiaries.

You will prepare balance sheets, P&L, and reports in line with accounting standards, support audits, ensure GST/TDS compliance, and drive process improvements.

Collaborate with finance teams and IT to optimize ERP usage (SAP/Oracle/ERP-LN) and advance automation for reporting and consolidation.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily GL postings, review journal entries, classify transactions, and reconcile balances across ledgers.
• Prepare and finalize balance sheets and P&L, including inventory valuations and other financial reports.
• Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities, including adjustments and trial balance preparation.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing statutory financial statements, notes to accounts, and ensuring GST/TDS compliance.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and digitization for reporting and consolidation.
• Collaborate with Business Finance, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Supply Chain to resolve discrepancies.
• Use ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or ERP-LN to manage daily operations and drive finance automation.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, including depreciation and impairment testing, and support ad hoc reporting.

Job description

General Ledger Management: Manage daily GL postings, review journal entries, ensure accurate transaction classification, and reconcile general ledger balances with subsidiary ledgers. Finalize daily accounting entries through the ERP system.

Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and finalize balance sheets, profit and loss statements, inventory valuations, and other financial reports in line with accounting standards and company policies. Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.

Month-End & Year-End Closing: Coordinate timely month-end and year-end closing activities, including required adjustments, trial balance preparation, monthly MIS, and management reporting.

Audit & Compliance: Support internal and external audits by preparing statutory financial statements, annexures, and notes to accounts. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, GST, TDS, and other statutory requirements while staying current with regulatory changes.

Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and digitization initiatives to strengthen the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting and consolidation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Business Finance, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Supply Chain, and other teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain financial data accuracy.

ERP & Systems: Use ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or ERP-LN and accounting applications to manage daily operations and advance finance automation and digital transformation.

Additional Responsibilities: Manage fixed asset accounting, including depreciation and impairment testing; support special projects and ad hoc reporting; and maintain accurate documentation for audits and tax assessments.
