Job summary

TSMG Holding in Hyderabad is seeking a Field Technician to assemble, test and repair hardware for our Street View systems, including cameras, frames and geolocation gear. You will work on vehicles and in-house, troubleshooting components and supporting remote operations.

The role requires hands-on hardware skills, the ability to travel with short notice, and a proactive mindset to learn and solve problems in a fast-changing environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and disassemble systems in-house and in-field on vehicles.
  • Troubleshoot and replace various computer and camera components.
  • Provide remote support for vehicle fleet and data collection.
  • Support engineering with test and data collection projects.
  • Refurbish parts and ensure refurbishment is completed.
  • Prototype and test client-designed equipment (cameras, frames, cables, geolocation).
  • Train technicians on new camera systems when rolled into operations.
  • Assemble, test and repair hardware of proprietary Street View systems.
  • Remote support for systems via phone or video conference.

Job description

Overview

Role Overview: Field Technician with skills in assembling equipment, part maintenance and replacement, refurbishment (terrestrial, aerial and other hardware tools/platforms). Handling & operating hardware equipment, tools (mechanical tools, soldering irons, etc.) and safety gear. Skills to manage forklift will be an added asset.

Responsibilities
  • Assembly and disassembly of systems in-house and in-field on vehicles
  • Troubleshooting and replacing various computer and camera components
  • Remote support for vehicle fleet, including guiding operators through system function tests and collecting relevant data over the phone
  • Support engineering teams with test and data collection projects
  • Provide support and repair: follow guidelines in the helpdesks to repair all vehicles locally or via remote support
  • Refurbishment: ensure refurbishment is completed for all parts
  • Prototyping and testing advanced client-designed equipment such as high-resolution cameras, mechanical frames, cables and geolocation equipment
  • Train technicians to support all new camera systems once they are formally rolled into operations
  • Assembling, testing and repairing hardware of proprietary Street View systems
  • Troubleshooting and replacing various proprietary computer and camera components
  • Remote support for systems, including guiding operators through system function tests and collecting relevant data over the phone or video conference
Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience
  • Familiarity with various testing techniques and strong hardware troubleshooting skills
  • Hardware troubleshooting, installation and warehouse management
  • Familiarity with vehicle parts, computer parts, camera parts, PCB, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to operate and communicate effectively with people at all levels of the business
  • Comfortable with a rapidly changing environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Able to work independently with a proactive attitude and a passion for learning and creative problem solving
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to travel, often on short notice
  • Valid passport or ability to obtain one
  • Clear driving record (MVR) and ability to operate motor vehicles
Tools
  • Expert knowledge of and experience with hand tools, light power tools, types and application of hardware, measuring tools and techniques
  • Basic automotive repair
  • Understanding of wiring diagrams (preferred but not required)
  • Electronics repairs (preferred but not required)
  • Basic knowledge of Linux (preferred but not required)
  • Working knowledge of ticketing systems, Gmail and Google Calendar
  • Basic spreadsheet tasks (Google Sheets, preferred)
  • Moderate to advanced automotive repair
