Senior Manager IT
Position Summary:-
As the Senior Manager of IT, specializing in Network, Firewalls, Security, Desktops, and Laptops, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the IT infrastructure and operations related to networking, security, and end-user devices within an organization. You will lead a team of IT professionals, ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of the network, firewalls, and end-user devices. Your role will involve designing and implementing network and security solutions, managing the desktop and laptop environment, and providing strategic direction to align IT initiatives with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Infrastructure and Security Management:
Design, implement, and maintain the organization’s network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, routers, switches, and wireless networks.
Develop and implement network security policies, procedures, and best practices to protect the organization’s data and systems.
Monitor network performance, analyze trends, and recommend improvements to optimize network efficiency and security.
Firewall and Security Management:
Oversee the configuration, administration, and monitoring of firewalls and security devices to protect the organization’s network from unauthorized access and security threats.
Develop and enforce firewall rules and security policies to maintain a secure network environment.
Stay updated with the latest security threats and industry trends, implementing appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
End-User Devices Management:
Manage the desktop and laptop environment, including operating system deployments, software installations, patch management, and troubleshooting.
Ensure the availability, performance, and security of end-user devices, including desktops, laptops, peripherals, and mobile devices.
Implement endpoint security solutions to protect against malware, data breaches, and unauthorized access.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead and manage a team of IT professionals, including network engineers, security specialists, and desktop support technicians.
Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
Set performance objectives, conduct regular performance evaluations, and address any performance or skill gaps.
Vendor Management:
Collaborate with vendors and service providers to evaluate, select, and procure networking equipment, security solutions, and end-user devices.
Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure optimal service quality and cost-effectiveness.
IT Strategy and Planning:
Develop and implement IT strategies and initiatives in alignment with the organization’s goals and requirements.
Identify and recommend emerging technologies and solutions to enhance network infrastructure, security, and end-user devices.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, security policies, desktop/laptop deployments, and troubleshooting guides.
Prepare regular reports on network performance, security incidents, desktop/laptop management, and IT projects for management.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Extensive experience in managing network infrastructure, firewalls, security, and end-user devices.
Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPN, etc.).
Expertise in firewall administration and security best practices.
Experience with endpoint security solutions, desktop/laptop management, and patch management.
Proven leadership and team management skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CISSP, or ITIL are highly desirable.
