Job summary

Vantive is seeking a Lead, Finance Application Systems Transformation (Incident Management) to provide advanced functional support for JDE-based finance systems. The role bridges AMS, Finance, and IT delivery teams to resolve incidents, protect close readiness, and maintain operational stability.

You will drive incident triage, root-cause analysis, and release validation, while building documentation and improving controls in a global, cross-functional environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in incident management and L2 functional support within finance systems, preferably in JDE environments.
  • Ability to perform functional impact assessments related to finance processes, including close, controls, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of SOX requirements and audit controls within financial systems.

Summary (Why) – Purpose Of The Position

The FAST Lead is an advanced functional specialist within the Finance Application Systems Transformation (FAST) organization. The role provides structured second‑line (L2) functional support for J.D. Edwards (JDE) finance systems, helping resolve incidents and defects while protecting financial close readiness, controls, and operational stability. Working independently within defined functional objectives, the role serves as a key bridge between AMS, Finance, FAST Leads, Data, Controls, and IT delivery teams to assess, prioritise, and resolve issues effectively.

Core Accountabilities
  • Serve as the functional subject matter expert for finance application configuration, posting logic, integrations, and embedded controls within assigned domain(s)
  • Support requirements definition and translate finance business needs into clear, testable functional designs and specifications
  • Partner with IT delivery teams to confirm solutions are controlled, scalable, and aligned to finance and audit requirements
  • Support Knowledge Transfer (KT) and TSA Exit enablement within assigned domain(s), helping the FAST organization build sustainable operating capability
  • Create and improve foundational operating artifacts where documentation is limited or does not exist, including:
  • Runbooks and playbooks for daily, weekly, monthly, and close‑critical activities
  • SOPs, job aids, decision trees, and exception‑handling guidance
  • Documentation and evidence standards aligned to SOX and audit requirements
  • A sustainable documentation repository with ownership and version discipline
  • Support the operating discipline required for a reliable service model
  • Definition of KPIs and metrics for KT progress, readiness, stability, and quality
  • Design and adoption of a case management / intake and logging approach to ensure support interventions are captured, categorized, and traceable
  • Coordinate functional testing, UAT support, and release readiness for finance‑impacting changes
  • Help ensure enhancements and projects are delivered with appropriate attention to close, controls, and financial reporting risk
  • Support enterprise initiatives such as entity setup, integrations, system enhancements, and transition‑related stabilization
RUN – Operational Stability, Close Readiness & Controls
  • Monitor and help maintain functional stability and predictable behaviour of finance applications and finance master data within assigned domain(s)
  • Support repeatable, high‑quality close outcomes by reinforcing cut‑off discipline, issue visibility, and defect preventionSupport SOX compliance and audit readiness through disciplined execution of system controls, documentation, and evidence standards
  • Serve as a functional escalation contact for close‑critical, audit‑impacting, or high‑risk finance system or data issues within assigned domain(s)
  • Work within the tiered support and escalation model, including:
  • Incident and defect triage and prioritisation
  • Functional root‑cause analysis and impact assessment
  • Validation of fixes prior to deployment
  • Use recurring issue trends and logged intervention data to reduce repeat defects and improve stability over time
OPTIMIZE – Simplify, Standardise & Improve
  • Identify opportunities to simplify configuration, reduce manual workarounds, and remove unnecessary complexity within assigned domain(s)
  • Contribute to standardisation of finance application and finance master data patterns, controls, and usage
  • Collaborate with Finance, IT, and Data teams to strengthen embedded controls and data quality
  • Support automation, analytics, and AI readiness as outcomes of stable operations and strong data discipline
  • Contribute to FAST roadmap inputs, prioritisation discussions, and continuous improvement efforts within assigned functional area(s)
Additional Key Responsibilities
  • Provide second‑line (L2) functional support following AMS triage, taking ownership of assigned finance system incidents and defects through resolution or appropriate escalation (Operational / Direct)
  • Perform functional analysis, impact assessment, and prioritisation of issues, ensuring alignment with business and finance priorities (Tactical / Significant)
  • Coordinate resolution across FAST Leads, IT delivery teams, and AMS providers, ensuring timely and effective outcomes (Tactical / Significant)
  • Identify and escalated close‑critical and control‑impacting issues to minimise risk to financial reporting (Tactical / Significant)
  • Track defects and incidents through full lifecycle, ensuring transparency, accountability, and timely resolution (Operational / Direct)
  • Validate system fixes and enhancements prior to release, ensuring issues are resolved without unintended downstream impacts (Tactical / Significant)

Job Requirements (How)

  • Strong experience in incident management and L2 functional support within finance systems, preferably in JDE environments

Education

  • Hands‑on experience with JDE finance modules and related finance applications
  • Demonstrated ability to support knowledge transfer, build documentation, and improve operating discipline in environments with limited existing documentation
  • Proven experience balancing operational stability and change delivery in complex environments
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, including root‑cause analysis
  • Effective communicator with the ability to partner across Finance, IT, Data, and Controls
  • Experience working in global, matrixed organisations preferred
