Job summary

Pragati Edible, a rice industry unit in West Bengal, is seeking an experienced Factory Manager. You will oversee daily production, maintenance, quality control, safety, and logistics to achieve targets efficiently.

The ideal candidate has FMCG exposure, at least 8 years in factory management, and a degree in Mechanical or Production engineering. Willingness to stay near the factory and lead a team across shifts is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in factory management in rice industry or FMCG preferred.
• Proven ability to manage production, maintenance, quality control, and safety.
• Bachelor's/Master's in Mechanical/Production engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Manage complete rice mill/factory operations daily.
• Ensure smooth production: processing, grading, sorting, polishing, packaging.
• Monitor targets and maintain productivity per standards.
• Supervise machine maintenance and breakdown handling.
• Maintain quality of raw materials and finished products.
• Handle manpower planning, shifts, and discipline.
• Ensure stock management of paddy, rice, packaging materials, finished goods.
• Coordinate with procurement, dispatch, and warehouse.
• Maintain safety, hygiene, and compliance with policies.
• Reduce wastage and improve operational efficiency.
• Prepare production reports daily/weekly/monthly.
• Ensure compliance with government regs, labor laws, and food safety.
• Monitor utility consumption (electricity, boiler, fuel).

Required Skills:-

• Strong knowledge of rice mill operations and production processes.
