Job summary
Caterpillar Inc. in India is seeking a facilities engineer to support maintenance, utilities, and workplace services for the manufacturing site.
You will assist with MEP systems, BMS, and utility networks, ensuring safe and reliable operations and compliance. You will work under senior facility professionals, participate in preventive and corrective maintenance, and contribute to Lean, Kaizen, 5S, and sustainability initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred).
- Strong focus on accuracy, data quality, and compliance with procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist maintenance, repair, and infrastructure activities for facility systems and services.
- Monitor electrical distribution systems, transformers, DG, UPS, HVAC, compressed air, water, and BMS.
- Support MEP operation and maintenance activities.
- Coordinate housekeeping, landscaping, pest control, and waste management with vendors.
- Ensure safety, permits, and contractor compliance; participate in preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, Lean, Kaizen, 5S and energy conservation initiatives.
- Assist with facility improvement projects and data collection for reporting.

Supports maintenance, utilities, infrastructure, MEP systems, and workplace services activities required for the safe and efficient operation of the manufacturing facility. Assists in maintaining facility assets, utility systems, workplace services, and contractor activities while developing knowledge of facility engineering principles and manufacturing support operations. Works under the guidance of senior facility professionals and contributes to continuous improvement, safety, and sustainability initiatives.
- Assist in maintenance, repair, and infrastructure activities related to facility systems and services.
- Support daily monitoring of electrical distribution systems, transformers, DG systems, UPS systems, HVAC equipment, compressed air systems, water systems, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Assist in operation and maintenance activities for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.
- Support coordination of housekeeping, pest control, landscaping, gardening, and waste management services.
- Work with contractors and vendors while ensuring compliance with safety requirements and work permits.
- Participate in preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
- Assist with facility improvement projects, infrastructure upgrades, and sustainability initiatives.
- Collect and analyze utility consumption data to support energy conservation efforts.
- Participate in Lean, Kaizen, 5S, and Continuous Improvement activities.
- Support Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs, including PTW, LOTO, safety observations, and emergency response activities.
- Provide timely support to manufacturing operations through effective facility service coordination.
- Maintain facility records, maintenance logs, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
- Support digitalization initiatives utilizing CMMS, BMS, and reporting platforms.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Maintains accurate maintenance and utility records.
