Job summary

Foster Farms is seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to provide welding, fabrication, and machining support. You will read blueprints, lay out jobs, and repair malfunctions, while mentoring trainees and maintaining safety standards.

Applicants should have 4+ years of hands-on experience with lathe/milling machines, the ability to weld various metals, and a California drivers license. This role requires standing, lifting, and working from ladders in a production environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of on-the-job training and/or formal schooling.
• Must pass Welder/Fabricator Level A test.
• Able to work with a minimum of supervision.
• Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work from a ladder.
• Must have and maintain a California drivers license and an acceptable DMV record.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and repair welding/fabrication malfunctions.
• Work from blueprints/schematics to perform maintenance/repair or install equipment.
• Report (in writing) materials and replacement parts needed for jobs; prepare and maintain maintenance invoices are required.
• Direct/instruct subordinate employees still in training (e.g., welders/fabricators, classes B and C).
• Lay out estimate jobs; determine appropriate metal types/thicknesses to be used.
• Weld mild steel, stainless and aluminum metals.
• Must have 4 years' experience with using lathe and milling machines.
• Machining of pins, bushings, shafts, keyways, etc.
• General cleaning and/or assisting other crews if required.
• Maintaining safety, housekeeping, and sanitation and disease control requirements while performing job duties.

Job description

Pay Rate: $29.80 per hour.

(Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7:00pm and 11:59pm. Additional $2.00 per hour worked between 12:00am-4:59am)
