The Opportunity

EY GDS is looking for a motivated, result‑oriented, and quality focused experienced and skilled Insurance Gen AI (Generative Artificial Intelligence) Manager. The role is responsible for leading and delivering Gen AI solutions for insurance clients across marketing/sales, underwriting, claims, pricing, fraud, and other domains. The candidate will lead the Gen AI initiative within insurance.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of Gen AI/AI strategies specifically tailored to the insurance industry.
• Translate business requirements into Gen AI/AI and advanced analytics problems.
• Champion and oversee integration of Gen AI tools into existing workflows and processes.
• Work closely with clients and stakeholders to understand business needs and partner with cross‑functional teams.
• Oversee development, training, and deployment of Gen AI models for policy generation, claims processing, fraud detection, etc.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and ethical considerations when using Gen AI.
• Engage in business development, client engagement, proposal writing, and present solutions to senior stakeholders.
• Contribute to the growth of the Gen AI ecosystem through collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Stay up to date on advancements in Gen AI and apply them to insurance applications.
• Present and communicate results and insights to clients and stakeholders.
• Manage a team of Gen AI specialists and provide guidance on project execution.
• Provide thought leadership and best‑practice guidance for insurance.
• Mentor and coach junior analysts and developers.

Professional Experience

• Over 10 years in AI and advanced analytics, including more than 5 years specializing in insurance analytics, with a track record of building and deploying analytical solutions.

Educational Background

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, AI, Gen AI, or AI/ML. Engineering or quantitative background preferred.

Technical Skills

• In-depth knowledge of Generative AI and solution‑design concepts like RAG, Agentic AI, LLM fine‑tuning; strong expertise in machine learning, deep learning, NLU, computer vision, etc.
• Strong understanding of insurance underwriting and claims processes and industry problem areas.
• High expertise in Python and next‑generation technologies such as AWS, Azure, GCP, big data, AI/ML.
• Experience using LLM models on cloud (OpenAI, Azure AI, AWS Bedrock, GCP Vertex AI).
• Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch.
• Experience building and deploying Agentic frameworks (Semantic Kernel, CrewAI, LangGraph, etc.).
• Experience with data preprocessing techniques and machine learning concepts.
• Understanding of end‑to‑end product lifecycle in dev, QA, production environments.
• Git version control and Agile development experience.

Soft Skills

• Ability to manage clients and stakeholders and build strong relationships.
• Ability to translate business problems into analytics problems.
• Excellent presentation and consulting skills.

• Manage end‑to‑end project delivery: scoping, solutioning, designing, developing, testing, deploying or maintaining.
• Ensure solutions meet client requirements and expectations.
