Job summary

Cyient in Hyderabad, India seeks an experienced aerospace structural analyst to drive design verification through static, fatigue and damage tolerance assessments. You will perform hand calculations, FE analyses, and MRB dispositions, ensuring continued airworthiness across production and in‑service concessions.

The ideal candidate has 5–15+ years in aircraft structural stress analysis, deep knowledge of metallic and composite structures, and proficiency with Nastran/Patran, Abaqus, and ANSYS.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5–15+ years of experience in aircraft structural stress analysis.
  • Strong experience in production concessions, MRB, non‑conformance disposition, or in‑service structural assessments.
  • Good understanding of aircraft metallic and composite structures.
  • Proficiency in classical hand calculations and structural substantiation methodologies.
  • Experience with aerospace design standards, certification requirements, and airworthiness principles.
  • Ability to independently evaluate structural deviations and provide technically sound dispositions.
  • Strong technical communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform static strength, fatigue, damage tolerance, and stability assessments for production and in‑service concessions.
  • Evaluate manufacturing non‑conformances, deviations, waivers, concessions, and quality notifications affecting aircraft structures.
  • Develop engineering dispositions including Use‑As‑Is, Repair, Rework, and Acceptable Variations.
  • Support Material Review Board (MRB) and concession activities by providing structural substantiation and risk assessments.
  • Assess in‑service structural damage, repairs, and continued airworthiness concerns.
  • Perform hand calculations, classical stress analysis, and finite element assessments to substantiate dispositions.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, stress reports, and certification requirements.
  • Coordinate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Airworthiness, and Customer Engineering teams to resolve structural issues within program timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with company design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer standards.
  • Support root cause investigations and implementation of corrective actions related to structural non‑conformances.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, stress reports, and approval packages.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous delegated stress approval authority/signatory responsibility for concessions, MRB, QNs, or non‑conformance dispositions.
  • Experience supporting major OEMs, Tier‑1 suppliers, or MRO organizations.
  • Exposure to both production and in‑service aircraft support environments.
  • Experience with fatigue and damage tolerance assessments.
  • Familiarity with repair design and structural repair manuals (SRM).
  • Working knowledge of FEA tools such as:
    • Nastran/Patran
    • Hypermesh
    • Abaqus
    • ANSYS
Roles and Responsibilities

Perform engineering duties such as the planning of Thermodynamics, Aero Thermal analysis, Heat Transfer, Fluid Dynamics, Aero Mechanics, and Acoustics. Designs, develops, and tests a variety of power plants, aircrafts and parts. Establishes specifications, performs analysis, and conducts performance tests. Predicts new and derivative noise levels and designs elements of vehicles and systems to ensure compliance with noise regulations, specifications and guarantee requirements. Includes aerodynamics, stability and control, flutter and vibration, landing loads, aircraft or system structures, hydrodynamics, propulsion system, fuels and combustion, aero‑acoustics, aero‑mechanics, heat transfer and instrumentation
