Job summary

Colgate-Palmolive in Mumbai, India seeks a Data Management Engineering and Architecture leader to own data governance, cataloging, quality, and security across the enterprise. This role drives architectural decisions, implements enterprise data platforms, and partners with global teams.

You will oversee data engineering pipelines, tool integrations (Collibra, Informatica, Atlan, Alation, Atacama) and advance AI-enabled BI initiatives while communicating complex concepts to non-technical

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/IT or related field. Master’s degree or equivalent in information management or systems preferred.
• 6-8 years of data management experience with at least 3 years implementing enterprise data catalog and data quality solutions
• Experience with delivering a technical metadata repository and integrations with multiple tech stacks
• Experience with Collibra, Informatica, Atlan, Alation, Atacama or similar tools required
• Experience building architecture in hybrid cloud (on-prem, GCP, Snowflake, etc.)
• Programming experience in Java and Python and integration development with APIs
• Strong technical communication to non-technical partners

Responsibilities

Job Summary (purpose):

Colgate-Palmolive is looking for a Data Management Engineering and Architecture leader responsible for implementing and handling the systems and processes that ensure the accuracy, quality, and protection of data within Colgate-Palmolive.

The candidate should be comfortable in playing a lead role towards the evolution of Data technology deployments across the global footprint.

Main Responsibilities:

Implement our data management and governance technology and tools–including a data catalog and data quality solution–and measure those technologies’ adoption, effectiveness and the overall value it brings to the organization. This includes the design, evaluation, testing, and deployment of enterprise solutions applying multiple technologies, tools, standards, methods and best practices.

Evaluate new and upcoming market technology solutions, negotiate for the best terms with vendors for licensing and support

Take technical ownership for data catalog, data quality and security/privacy platforms.

Convert functional and business requirements into technical solutions.

Conduct architectural reviews following Colgate standards and get approvals for integrations, onboarding new tools etc.

Understand data platforms architecture and suggest data governance best practices.

Develop data engineering pipelines as per Colgate standards to implement data quality, observability requirements coming from various domains.

Enhance data catalog experience by adding custom features through API development.

Proactively lead initiatives like AI for BI use cases.

Understand new features from Vendors in AI space and implement them locally

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, information technology or related field. Master’s degree or equivalent experience in information management or systems is preferred.

6-8 years of data management experience with at least 3 experiences responsible for implementing enterprise data catalog and data quality solutions

Experience with delivering a technical metadata repository and integrations with multiple tech stacks.

Experience with Collibra, Informatica, Atlan, Alation, Atacama or similar tools required

Experience building architecture in hybrid cloud (on-prem, GCP, Snowflake, etc.)

Experience with Platform Engineering, Software Development and Infrastructure with programming experience in Java and Python and Integration Development with APIs

Deep technical competence with the ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical partners

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong EA or Data Architecture experience applying industry frameworks and standard methodologies (ex. TOGAF)
