Veradigm is seeking a highly experienced Workday HCM Functional Consultant to join our Applications Management IT team. This is a senior individual-contributor role with broad ownership across the Workday HCM platform — spanning day-to-day administration, system enhancements, release management, and end‑user support.
The ideal candidate brings deep hands‑on Workday expertise, a consultative mindset, and the business acumen needed to translate complex organizational requirements into scalable, maintainable Workday solutions. You will serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders and a subject‑matter expert within the IT team, driving quality, stability, and continuous improvement across Workday HCM.
HCM Administration & Configuration
- Serve as the primary Workday HCM administrator for Core HCM, Absence Management, Learning, Payroll Interfaces, Time Tracking, and Business Process Configuration.
- Lead functional analysis, design, and hands‑on configuration of Workday HCM modules to meet evolving business requirements.
- Design, build, and optimize Workday business processes, security roles, condition rules, and reporting structures.
- Configure and maintain calculated fields, custom reports, and dashboards to support operational and strategic decision‑making.
Stakeholder Engagement & Solutioning
- Partner with HR, Finance, Operations, and other business stakeholders to gather, document, and validate system requirements.
- Translate business needs into clearly scoped Workday configuration solutions, articulating design trade‑offs and recommendations.
- Serve as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams to ensure end‑to‑end solution integrity.
- Provide expert guidance on Workday capabilities and constraints to inform business process design decisions.
Release Management & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor Workday's bi‑annual release schedule; proactively assess impact of new features and configuration changes on existing implementations.
- Coordinate release testing cycles with business stakeholders — including regression testing, UAT facilitation, and production deployment sign‑off.
- Stay current on Workday's product roadmap and recommend process improvements based on newly available functionality.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort, improve data quality, and increase user adoption through platform optimization.
Incident Management & User Support
- Own Tier 2/3 incident resolution across supported Workday HCM modules — diagnosing root causes, implementing fixes, and communicating status to stakeholders.
- Monitor, triage, and resolve support tickets submitted via the incident management system (ServiceNow, JIRA or equivalent).
- Provide timely, high‑quality responses to user requests while managing competing priorities across multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Support off‑hours maintenance windows or critical incident resolution as needed to minimize system downtime.
Documentation, Training & Mentorship
- Create and maintain thorough documentation for system configurations, business processes, and operational procedures.
- Develop user‑facing training materials and deliver training sessions for new or enhanced Workday functionality.
- Mentor junior consultants and contribute to team knowledge‑sharing, standards, and best practices.
- Support data validation, test case authoring, system testing, and UAT across project and enhancement initiatives.
Experience & Functional Expertise
- 8+ years of hands‑on Workday HCM functional consulting experience, including at least 2 full end‑to‑end lifecycle implementations.
- Deep expertise across Workday HCM modules: Core HCM, Absence Management, Learning, Payroll Interfaces, Time Tracking, and Business Process Configuration.
- Strong command of Workday's functional architecture, data model, and business process framework.
- Proficiency with Workday reporting tools: standard reports, custom reports, calculated fields, matrix reports, and condition rules.
- Workday HCM certification(s) in one or more functional areas strongly preferred.
