Job summary

General Mills India Pvt Ltd is seeking a Finance & Accounting professional to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions and to prepare information for North American facilities. The role requires 2+ years in business accounting and strong SAP and Excel skills for daily reconciliations, journal entries, and cost reviews.

You will build strong relationships with business partners, support continuity and meet SLAs, while following GMI standards and Sarbanes-Oxley controls.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of related experience in business accounting
• Experience with reconciliation and financial controls is preferred
• Familiarity with SAP system functionality
• Experience dealing with U.S. personnel over phone is a plus
• Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) desirable

Responsibilities

• Manage & lead inventory reconciliations for ESC & 3rd Party Co-Packers with accurate inventory management across systems
• Investigate and resolve inventory variance and discrepancies (IDOC errors, IR/GR mismatches, over/short variances)
• Prepare JE’s and Open Purchase orders/Shipment reports; create shipments in UGS with accuracy
• Perform end-to-end operational grain accounting for mills and terminals with timeliness
• Support audits and ensure SOX/compliance requirements are met

OVERVIEW

Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions in compliance with related accounting controls and prepare information and reports for North American Internal/External manufacturing facilities. Responsibilities require functional expertise in finance and accounting, strong customer relationship, Analytical s, and communication skills.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Manage & lead inventory reconciliations for External Supply Chain (ESC) & 3rd Party Co-Packers, ensure accurate inventory management across systems Investigate and resolve inventory variance and discrepancies, including IDOC errors, IR/GR mismatches, and over/short variances Work and resolve issues related daily, weekly, and monthly activities (E.g., Inventory reports, Negative inventory report, Prepare JE’s, Open Purchase order /Shipment report, Qty Discrepancy Reports Execute end-to-end operational grain accounting for mills and terminals, including unloads, sales invoice settlements, millfeed processing, and shipment creation in UGS, with strong accuracy and timeliness focus Lead, support & reconcile other profit centers Oversee product costing, new SKU/material set up in SAP, and conduct BOM (Bills of material) reviews and audits Constantly work on all daily/Weekly Report and meet SLA guidelines
• Develop strong relationships with business partners
• Support business continuity to meet critical business objective
• Ensure all SLAs are met with set accuracy and timelines
• Review and resolve exception items such as aged items in a timely manner
• Accurately process journal entries and perform account Reconciliations
• Support audit and control to ensure compliance with GMI and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
• Identify, initiate, and implement process improvement ideas
• Leverage Continues Improvement tools or mindset to identify recurring issues and work towards Institutional Solution
• Ensure clear process documentation is in place, utilized and updated in timely manner
• Actively participate in team or site events/initiatives

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

Minimum Degree Requirements: Full Time graduation from an accredited university (Mandatory) Minimum years of related experience required:2+ years of relevant experience in business, accounting.
