Role & responsibilities:

1. Store & Zonal Coordination: Serve as the central point of contact to coordinate legal and operational requirements between the Head Office, zonal teams, and retail stores.
2. Contract & File Management: Manage the drafting, execution, indexing, and structured physical/digital filing of lease deeds, commercial contracts, vendor agreements, and statutory notices.
3. MIS & Repository Maintenance: Implement, update, and maintain a centralized Legal Management Information System (MIS) and document repository to ensure 100% document retrieval efficiency and audit readiness.
4. Interactive Dashboards & Reporting: Build and update dynamic dashboards to monitor contract expiration, renewal timelines, active litigations, and compliance statuses. Prepare comprehensive periodic legal reports for management review.
5. Regulatory Filings Support: Assist in procuring, renewing, and archiving operational licenses, regulatory permits, and statutory filings across pan-India stores.
6. Legal Notices & Dispute Resolution:
   • Assist in handling regulatory disputes and notices, collaborating with internal teams and external counsel as needed.
   • Maintain a detailed record of all legal matters and assist in periodic MIS reporting of outstanding litigations.
7. Compliance & Regulatory Adherence:
   • Implement and manage compliance tools for efficient tracking and enforcement of pan-India compliance, including statutory and regulatory obligations.
   • Assist in the procurement of operational licenses and permits, ensuring timely renewals and adherence to all licensing requirements.
   • Monitor and analyze new legislative developments, especially those impacting the retail industry, and prepare risk analyses and reports on their potential impact.
   • Contribute to the development and updating of internal legal policies and procedures to ensure adherence to ethical standards, laws, and industry regulations.

Ancillary Responsibilities:

Experience:

   • Demonstrable experience in maintaining minutes, coordinating between head office and zonal support.

3. 3- Industry Experience (Preferred): Retail Sector experience is preferred, demonstrating an understanding of the unique legal and understanding of regulatory landscape of the real estate and online marketplace platforms.
