Job summary

Asian Paints in Hyderabad is seeking a quality control technician to monitor batch status across mills, mixers, and reactors. The role involves compiling batch approval lists, updating logs, and ensuring 5S compliance on the shopfloor and QA lab. You will calibrate instruments and inspect products per master files, liaising with production to address deviations.

Daily rounds and data analysis are required for continuous improvement, with meticulous documentation to support ISO procedures.

Responsibilities

• Get status of batch details from the preceding shift Officer-Level I.
• Make a list of approved/pending batches and gather any special instructions from the previous shift.
• Ensure 5S on shopfloor and QA lab.
• Update ledgers and log books for batch parameters and tests.
• Calibrate instruments for future usage.
• Inspect finished products and intermediates per master files.
• Analyze batch cards for deviations and data availability for future analysis.
• Coordinate with production on batch deviations and ensure issues don’t recur.
• Update ledgers per laid down ISO procedures.
• Perform daily rounds on shopfloor and processing floor to ensure procedures are followed.
• Communicate batch status and issues to production.

External Job Description

• Getting the details about status of different batches in various Pug mills, Mixers, reactors, TSDs etc from the preceding shift Officer-Level I.
• Making a list of approved, pending batches, and obtaining any special instructions or communication regarding batches, processes, practices etc in the previous shift.
• Ensuring implementation of 5S activities on the shopfloor and QA lab.
• Ensuring the regular updation of various ledgers and log books regarding the parameters checked for batches and other tests done.
• Undertaking calibration of various instruments like color computer etc for future usage.
• Inspecting various finished products and intermediates as per the specifications and test methods laid out in the master files.
• Analyzing batch cards of finished products intermediates for observed deviations in process controls availability of data for future analysis etc.
• Coordinating with production in case of deviations w.r.t completion of batches, recording details of the same and ensuring that these do not recur in subsequent batches.
• Ensuring periodic updation of various ledgers, files as per the laid down procedures in accordance with ISO requirements.
• Looking after the smooth operating and maintenance of various instruments like colour computer, penetrometer, viscometer, gyroshaker etc.
• Making daily rounds to the shopfloor and processing floor to ensure that the activities are carried down as per the laid down procedures/systems.
• Communicating with production department regarding status of various batches, approvals, problems related to batches etc.
