Job summary

The Edge Partnership - The Edge in Asia is seeking an Executive Director – Software Engineering to provide strategic leadership across Enterprise Business Applications and Technologies. You will drive modernization, ERP transformation, software engineering, AI adoption and platform strategy, partnering with senior stakeholders.

Reporting to IT leadership, this role manages enterprise apps, ERP platforms, integrations, cloud tech and AI-driven transformation across a global organization.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of industry experience in technical roles with leadership experience.
• 8+ years of people management including mentoring and coaching.
• Strong experience leading large Enterprise Applications, ERP and software engineering.
• Expertise in Cloud Native Platforms – Oracle or Azure.
• Strong understanding of AI/GenAI and enterprise transformation.
• Proven experience in Solution Architecture and Product Roadmap development.
• Exposure to Oracle ERP preferred.
• Experience driving modernization, standardization and digital transformation.
• Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute multi-year strategy for Enterprise Business Applications and Technologies including ERP and platforms.
• Lead modernization initiatives and develop technology roadmaps aligned with business priorities.
• Own strategy, governance, delivery and operations of ERP platforms across Finance, Supply Chain, HR, Procurement.
• Lead engineering organizations responsible for enterprise apps, integrations, APIs and middleware.
• Drive adoption of modern engineering practices and API-first design.
• Define and execute AI strategies across enterprise operations.
• Manage technology portfolios, budgets, vendors and partnerships with focus on availability and security.
• Build strong relationships with executive stakeholders and translate requirements into strategy.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams including engineers, architects, PMs, ERP specialists and analysts.
• Foster talent development, leadership growth and continuous improvement culture.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

• Defining and executing the multi-year strategy for Enterprise Business Applications and Technologies, including ERP, enterprise platforms and custom business applications.
• Leading enterprise-wide modernization initiatives and developing technology roadmaps aligned with strategic business priorities.
• Owning the strategy, governance, delivery and operational performance of enterprise ERP platforms across Finance, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Procurement and related business functions.
• Leading high-performing engineering organisations responsible for enterprise applications, integrations, APIs, middleware, workflow platforms and digital business solutions.
• Driving adoption of modern engineering practices, reusable services, microservices architecture, API-first design and enterprise integration standards.
• Defining and executing AI strategies across enterprise business operations, including Generative AI, Agentic AI, intelligent automation, predictive analytics and AI-enabled digital solutions.
• Managing significant technology portfolios, budgets, vendor ecosystems and strategic partnerships while ensuring application availability, scalability, resilience and cybersecurity compliance.
• Establishing strong relationships with executive stakeholders and translating business requirements into technology strategy and measurable delivery outcomes.
• Leading multidisciplinary teams including software engineers, architects, product managers, ERP specialists, program managers, AI practitioners and business analysts.
• Driving talent development, succession planning, leadership development, engineering excellence and a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

To be eligible for this role you will require:

• 20+ years of industry experience in technical roles with strong software engineering, technology leadership and people management experience.
• 8+ years of people management experience, including team performance, delivery, roadmap management, mentoring and coaching.
• Strong experience leading large-scale Enterprise Applications, ERP and Software Engineering functions.
• Strong expertise in Cloud Native Platforms – Oracle or Azure, with proficiency in at least one of these platforms.
• Strong understanding of Software Engineering, AI/GenAI and enterprise technology transformation.
• Proven experience in Solution Architecture and Product Roadmap development.
• Exposure to Oracle ERP is preferred.
• Experience driving enterprise-wide modernization, platform simplification, standardization, automation and digital transformation.
• Strong stakeholder management and executive-level communication skills within complex, matrixed organisations.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent discipline.
