Responsibilities

• Receive, verify, and log incoming specimens, ensuring the sample matches the correct test order.
• High-volume data entry of lab requests using LIS software, maintaining a minimum typing speed of 60 wpm with 10-key proficiency.
• Review test orders for completeness; flag discrepancies and coordinate with the team for corrective actions.
• Apply biosafety protocols, including PPE, to safely handle specimens that may pose biological hazards.
• Maintain confidentiality of PHI in accordance with HIPAA and internal policies.
• Coordinate with shift colleagues to ensure smooth handoffs and workflow.
