Job summary

Idexcel in Chennai seeks an EV Thermal Management System Design Engineer with 6-8 years of experience to design and package automotive thermal systems, including battery cooling and e-powertrain thermal management.

Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 or Siemens NX, Teamcenter, GD&T, and DFM/DFA is essential, with strong cross-functional coordination and supplier interaction required.

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive thermal management system design and packaging.
• Exposure to EV battery and e-powertrain thermal management.
• Hands-on expertise with CATIA V5/V6 or Siemens NX.
• Knowledge of coolant flow, heat transfer, and component packaging.
• GD&T and tolerance analysis; DFM/DFA practices.
• Understanding of cooling/heating circuit architecture and NVH considerations.

Responsibilities

• Design and package automotive thermal management systems for EV applications.
• Develop battery cooling and e-powertrain thermal solutions.
• Perform hose routing, component layout, and interface management.
• Coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional teams for integration.
• Apply GD&T and tolerance analysis to ensure manufacturability.

Shift timings: 3PM to 12 PM midnight

• Experience in automotive thermal management system design and packaging.
• Good exposure to EV battery and e-powertrain thermal management.
• Hands-on expertise in CATIA V5/V6 or Siemens NX.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Coolant hose and pipe routing
• Battery cooling systems
• HVAC and refrigerant circuits
• Pumps, valves, chillers and heat exchangers
• Thermal component packaging
• Hose joints and quick connectors
• Brackets, clips and clamps
• Plastic, rubber and sheet-metal component design
• GD&T and tolerance analysis
• DFM/DFA
• Understanding of cooling/heating circuit architecture, coolant flow, pressure drop, heat transfer, sealing, vibration, NVH and durability considerations.
• Knowledge of vehicle-level packaging and interface management.
• Good supplier and cross-functional coordination skills.
