Overview

At Takeda, we are leading digital evolution and global transformation by building innovative solutions and future-ready capabilities. This role is based in Bengaluru and is part of Takeda’s Innovation Capability Center (ICC). You will contribute to Takeda’s Enterprise Architecture vision and help solve complex strategic challenges within the Global Portfolio Division (GPD) while balancing guardrails and principles to enable agile, efficient digital capabilities in a bio-pharmaceutical context.

Key Responsibilities

• Business Domain Architecture: act as a trusted advisor to regional/functional leadership in GPD, developing data and technology strategies within enterprise guardrails; articulate complex technology concepts to business stakeholders; mediate architecture conversations to achieve neutral, data-driven decisions; drive a common technology vision with the Principal Enterprise Architect – GPD; represent GPD in Enterprise Architecture forums; lead delivery of EA services to an assigned domain; develop and manage business architectures (capability models, value streams, processes); lead capabilities in AI/ML, Generative AI, and Agentic solutions within commercial and marketing contexts.

• Architecture Governance (Standards & Guardrails): participate in Enterprise Governance processes, evaluate solutions, make buy vs. build decisions, and provide early-phase estimates; recommend AI/ML/GenAI and Agentic practices in a safe, secure manner; advise projects on architecture direction and alignment to IT strategy; promote target architecture and governance processes; facilitate design reviews and ensure alignment to architecture standards and reusable solutions; share domain expertise with the Architecture Community of Practice; demonstrate familiarity with EA frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman, DODAF); address Responsible AI and explainability from an architectural perspective.

• Technical Architecture Skills: combine pharmaceutical/life sciences business acumen with expertise in at least one technical architecture domain (e.g., AI/ML, data, AWS, APIs, Mulesoft, Power Platform); design reference architectures and reusable patterns; translate business requirements into technical requirements; assess gaps and remediation options; drive end-to-end design across domains; understand SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, SOA, APIs, microservices, event-driven IT, and predictive analytics; be familiar with data privacy and regulatory requirements in pharma; support agile product development (SAFe).

• Key Skills: advising and influencing, teamwork, understanding customer goals, negotiation, requirements analysis, business capability modeling, value streams and process mapping, architecture governance, solution design and delivery, data analytics, and enterprise middleware knowledge.
