Job summary

3M in Bengaluru (Bangalore) is seeking an Engineering Team Lead - ES&T to supervise a team of controls engineers in manufacturing. You will allocate resources, forecast workload, and ensure alignment with project objectives while guiding technical growth.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering, 8+ years in engineering/manufacturing, 5+ years in machine control design, and 2+ years in supervision. Familiarity with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs, HMIs, drives, robotics is preferred.

The Engineering Team Lead - ES&T will support the Engineering Systems and Technology organization, supervising a team of controls engineers who support 3M Manufacturing. As a Team Lead, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Your key responsibilities would be :

• Providing engineering resources and support for manufacturing.
• Responsible for staffing, workload forecasting, and succession planning within the group.
• Work closely with engineering teams to ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Identifying and addressing gaps in technical expertise.
• Providing direct supervision to assigned employees through leadership, coaching, training and development, allocating work assignments, reviewing progress in achieving employee objectives.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a related field (completed and verified prior to start)

• Minimum 8 years of experience working in a technical, manufacturing, and/or engineering environment.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working with machine control system design and commissioning in relevant environment.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory role for control engineers

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Experience with Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens control systems and hardware, including PLCs, HMIs, drives, automation, and/or robotics.
• Strong team player with the ability to contribute effectively in a cross-functional environment.
