What You’ll Do

Responsible for mentoring and leading the execution of the office’s local engineering group. This position will support the Operations/Engineering Manager while serving as a change agent to help improve overall communication, project execution, and efficiency within Engineering.

Day‑To‑Day Responsibilities

Support the local office Engineering Management as an SME and escalation resource in coordination with local Operations Management.
Provide leadership and guidance to local engineering team.
Share, teach and reinforce the use of AVI‑SPL standard practice across the team.
Coach and motivate team members to successfully perform job requirements and to meet and exceed goals and objectives.
Regularly communicate through daily huddles and other methods to ensure consistency and timely, accurate completion of engineering tasks.
Lead the engineering team with a positive attitude that aligns with teamwork, mission, vision, and values of the organization.
Support leadership in establishing departmental goals, objectives and operating procedures.
Perform frequent spot checks of team work to ensure accuracy and adherence to all company standards.
Lead lessons‑learned meetings as necessary.
Review pre‑construction design and documentation, technical design, and pricing as needed.
Meet with vendors and prospective vendors to evaluate products and serve as a customer liaison for engineering inquiries and post‑sales project consultation.
Review project designs created by internal and external resources.
Estimate hours for work based on needs analysis, scope of work, and bid requirements.
Remain abreast of AV advances in the field and identify areas of use within the organization.
Create and maintain technical documentation in accordance with company guidelines, translating customer requirements into functional system designs.
Contribute to improving process workflows and maintaining system administration, scheduling, and resources for the department.

Clear and professional written and oral communication skills (internal and external).
Demonstrated customer service focus and client communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints.
Basic understanding of IP networking.
Advanced computer skills required for the design, configuration and operation of AV equipment.
Valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI‑SPL driving standards.
Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Nice‑To‑Haves

Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field (preferred).
At least 10 years of AV experience (preferred).
Experience with Enterprise VC solutions (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, BlueJeans, Cisco Telepresence, etc.).
AVIXIA CTS‑D (Certified Technical Specialist–Design) (preferred).
A minimum of 6 years of AV experience plus a four‑year degree or military experience may be considered in place of job experience.
