Job description

At Straive, we leverage our unique people-process-tech framework to build the best-of-breed data analytics & AI solutions. By operationalizing this solution into your core workflow, we deliver real-world measurable impact and better ROIs through a combination of higher efficiency, elevated experiences, and enhanced revenues.

About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished Engineering Manager to operate at the intersection of solution architecture, disciplined project delivery, and people leadership. This role is responsible for leading a team of software engineers in the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-grade internal applications built on the .NET ecosystem and relational database platforms (SQL Server, PostgreSQL). The successful candidate will combine deep technical credibility with strong program execution and stakeholder management capabilities. This is not a hands-off coordination role; rather, it requires a leader who can define and review technical solutions, govern delivery outcomes, and actively develop engineering talent—often balancing strategic and operational priorities within the same day.

Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Technical Governance
  • Solution Design Leadership: Own and guide the end-to-end solution design for enterprise applications, ensuring scalability, maintainability, security, and alignment with organizational standards.
  • Architecture Review & Approval: Lead design and architecture reviews, validating technical approaches, identifying risks, and ensuring appropriate trade-offs between time, cost, and technical quality.
  • Technical Governance: Establish and enforce engineering best practices across coding standards, security, performance, documentation, and system resilience.
  • Escalation & Risk Management: Serve as the final escalation point for complex technical challenges, proactively identifying constraints and mitigating risks before they impact delivery.
Project & Delivery Management
  • End-to-End Delivery Ownership: Plan, execute, and oversee multiple concurrent technical projects, ensuring delivery against agreed scope, timelines, and quality benchmarks.
  • Hybrid Methodology Execution: Apply a pragmatic hybrid delivery model, blending Agile practices with enterprise governance, reporting, and milestone-based planning.
  • Delivery Assurance: Track progress, dependencies, and risks, ensuring corrective actions are taken early and delivery commitments remain realistic and achievable.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Manage dependencies across teams, vendors, and business units to maintain delivery momentum in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Direct People Management: Lead, mentor, and support a team of engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
  • Performance & Career Development: Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and structured career development planning aligned with both individual aspirations and organizational needs.
  • Capacity & Resource Planning: Forecast team capacity and align staffing plans with delivery commitments to ensure sustainable workloads and predictable outcomes.
  • Team Enablement: Actively remove impediments and provide clarity of direction so engineers can remain focused on high-value technical work.
Stakeholder & Executive Engagement
  • Primary Stakeholder Interface: Serve as the single point of accountability between engineering teams and senior business stakeholders.
  • Expectation & Risk Management: Proactively manage expectations through clear communication of scope, risks, and trade-offs—ensuring there are no surprises.
  • Executive Communication: Translate complex technical topics, including architectural decisions and technical debt, into concise, business-relevant insights for non-technical leaders.
Qualifications
  • Min 8-12 Years experience in relevant field.
  • Proven background in developing and delivering enterprise web applications using .NET Framework / .NET Core.
  • Strong expertise in relational databases, particularly SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
  • Demonstrated experience in solution architecture, system integration, and enterprise application design.
  • Hands-on experience operating within large corporate or regulated environments, managing cross-functional dependencies.
  • Practical experience working within hybrid delivery models (Agile/Scrum combined with Waterfall governance).
Required Skills
  • Experience managing and developing engineering teams, including performance management and career progression.
  • Strong project management capabilities, with a track record of delivering complex technical initiatives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, particularly at senior and executive levels.
Preferred Skills
  • Can articulate complex architectural trade-offs and technical debt considerations to non-technical executives with clarity and confidence.
  • Acts as a trusted buffer between engineering teams and stakeholders, enabling focused and effective delivery.
  • Understands when pragmatism is required to deliver outcomes—and when long-term technical sustainability must take priority.
