The Engineering Manager – Systems demonstrates leadership in developing neurostimulator system solutions and guiding system design engineers. This role involves managing cross-functional teams within a matrix organization to design, develop, and validate innovative system features across all NMPH therapies. The successful candidate will utilize strong communication, problem-solving, and research translation skills to oversee design, testing, operations support, and product release.

Responsibilities include:

1. Planning, directing, and implementing system design, development, and validation of medical device systems and products.
2. Understanding product development, clinical (preferable), and regulatory requirements.
3. Evaluating existing technologies in collaboration with organizational units.
4. Leading the team from initial design to market release and sustaining existing products.
5. Maintaining documentation throughout all development phases.
6. Coordinating activities across product teams to ensure timely delivery for testing phases.
7. Developing and evaluating personnel to ensure efficient operations.
8. Providing technical leadership and mentoring to engineers involved in the system SI&T process.
9. Driving continuous improvement in verification and validation processes.
10. Communicating effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders about verification and validation progress.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree with a minimum of 15+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience managing cross-functional engineering teams of 20 or more members.
• Combination of people management and technical expertise.
• Deep understanding of embedded and application software development processes (Agile, Waterfall) and establishing team metrics.
• Experience with validation of test methods, including hardware and software test fixtures.
