Overview
We are seeking an Engineering Manager in India. This role leads full-stack engineering teams responsible for developing and maintaining a diverse portfolio of software products and services. You will oversee architecture strategies, guide the technical roadmap in a fast-growing environment, and balance design, coding, and coaching responsibilities while collaborating with product owners, data scientists, and other stakeholders. You will influence critical architectural decisions, implement scalable and reliable solutions, and drive continuous improvement across your domain. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage full-stack engineering teams, ensuring technical excellence, productivity, and high-quality software delivery
- Define and own the target architecture for your domain, guiding implementation across projects and services
- Collaborate with product teams, mobile and web engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into well-engineered solutions
- Mentor engineers, provide guidance, review code, and promote best practices across teams
- Contribute to Communities of Practice, sharing knowledge and shaping engineering standards and guidelines
- Manage engineering processes, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment practices to ensure reliable and secure software delivery
- Oversee integration with third-party providers, partner systems, and internal platforms, ensuring alignment with architectural standards
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience building server-side applications with strong knowledge of relevant programming languages (e.g., Java, or similar)
- Proven experience with backend frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot) and microservices architecture
- Hands-on experience designing, building, and running scalable cloud-native applications with RESTful APIs
- Exposure to complex financial or payment systems is highly desirable
- Experience with relational databases, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development methodologies
- Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Familiarity with event-driven architecture, containerization (Docker), cloud platforms (AWS), and infrastructure as code (Terraform)
