What’s in it for you?

Opportunity To Unlock Your Creativity

Think of all the times you were held back from trying new ideas because you were boxed in by bureaucratic legacy processes or old school tactics. Having a growth mindset is deeply ingrained into our company culture since day 1 so Fictiv is an environment where you have the creative liberty and support of the team to try big bold ideas to achieve our sales and customer goals.

Opportunity To Grow Your Career

There are plenty of jobs out there. The question is whether any of them will help you grow in your career? Will you be challenged by teammates to achieve your potential? Or are they roles that will ask you to do more of what you've already mastered. At Fictiv, you'll be surrounded by supportive teammates who will push you to be your best through their curiosity and passion.

Impact In This Role

Fictiv is seeking a hands‑on, deeply technical Engineering Manager to lead our NetSuite team. This is not a purely people‑management role. The right candidate thrives at the intersection of engineering leadership and technical craft — someone who can jump into the code to debug a complex issue, write a detailed technical design document, and then step back to coach an engineer on how to approach the problem differently.

Our NetSuite environment supports a complex, multi‑subsidiary OneWorld deployment spanning multiple regions globally, serving a make‑to‑order custom manufacturing operation across multiple industries. The Engineering Manager will set the technical bar for the team, drive architectural decisions, and build the processes and practices that allow the engineering team to deliver at high quality and velocity.

This role reports to the Sr Director of Engineering, IT Systems.

What You’ll Be Doing

Hands‑On Technical Leadership

  • Actively participate in technical work alongside the team — reviewing, and debugging code as needed to unblock engineers, validate approaches, or accelerate critical deliveries.
  • Author and own technical design documents (TDDs) for significant platform changes, new integrations, and architectural decisions, covering solution design, data flow, error handling, performance considerations, and trade‑offs.
  • Lead architecture reviews for new features, customizations, and integrations, ensuring decisions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with NetSuite best practices.
  • Conduct thorough, constructive code reviews — holding the team to a high and consistent engineering standard.
  • Set standards for development and customization work, including guidelines for SuiteScript patterns, SuiteFlow design, custom record architecture, and integration approaches.
  • Review and provide technical direction on team deliverables.
  • Maintain a deep, current understanding of NetSuite capabilities and stay informed on upcoming release changes that may impact the business.
  • Lead technical evaluation of new NetSuite modules, third‑party tools, and integration platforms, producing structured analysis comparing options on capability, cost, risk, and architectural fit.
  • Drive proactive identification and remediation of technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and architectural risks before they affect business operations.

Development & Deployment Practices

  • Own and continuously improve the team's software development lifecycle, from requirements intake through design, development, testing, deployment, and post‑release monitoring.
  • Mature the team's CI/CD pipeline built on SuiteCloud Development Framework (SDF) and GitHub Actions, improving reliability, test coverage, deployment speed, and rollback capability across QA, Staging, and Production environments.
  • Build efficient, repeatable engineering workflows that reduce manual work, minimize deployment risk, and enable the team to ship with confidence.
  • Establish clear incident response practices for production issues, including on‑call expectations, severity classification, root cause analysis, and post‑mortem documentation.
  • Champion the use of tooling, automation, and documentation to reduce knowledge silos and accelerate onboarding of new team members.

Project Management

  • Manage the engineering team's project portfolio, balancing implementation work, enhancements, integrations, and technical debt reduction.
  • Lead project planning and estimation for initiatives, working with stakeholders to define scope, timelines, deliverables, and success criteria.
  • Coordinate dependencies across concurrent projects and ensure resources are appropriately allocated to meet commitments.
  • Partner with business stakeholders and the Director of Engineering to prioritize work, communicate progress, manage scope changes, and elevate risks.
  • Own delivery accountability for projects, tracking progress against milestones and ensuring the team ships on schedule with quality.
  • Conduct project retrospectives to identify lessons learned and continuously improve the team's delivery practices.

Cross‑Functional Stakeholder Alignment

  • Own the technical architecture of NetSuite across all subsidiaries, ensuring the system is structured to support complex manufacturing workflows including multi‑vendor BOMs, intercompany fulfillment, transfer order processing, and landed cost management.
  • Serve as the engineering point of contact for business stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Quality functions.
  • Translate complex business requirements into clearly scoped technical solutions, and communicate technical constraints and trade‑offs back to stakeholders in accessible terms.
  • Partner with regional operations leads across multiple geographies to understand localized system requirements and ensure solutions work across all subsidiaries.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to communicate system health, roadmap progress, and technology investment decisions.
  • Act as the engineering escalation point for critical system issues, coordinating resolution across the team, NetSuite support, and business stakeholders.

People Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and grow the NetSuite engineering team, building individual capability while raising the collective technical bar.
  • Actively participate in hiring for technical depth and team fit, structured onboarding, performance management, career development planning.
  • Conduct meaningful 1:1s, provide regular and specific feedback, and create growth paths for engineers to develop expertise across NetSuite administration, scripting, and integration development.
  • Run knowledge transfer sessions, technical workshops, and internal documentation efforts to ensure knowledge is distributed across the team.
  • Foster a culture of engineering excellence, continuous learning, and shared ownership of quality.
Desired Traits
  • 12+ years of experience working in NetSuite, with at least 3 years in a formal engineering management or senior technical lead role responsible for a team.
  • In‑depth knowledge of NetSuite modules such as GL, Order to Cash, Inventory, AP, AR, Billing, Purchasing, Revenue Recognition, Asset Management
  • Deep expertise in NetSuite OneWorld including multi‑subsidiary setup, intercompany framework, global financial consolidation, and cross‑subsidiary order fulfillment.
  • Strong understanding of business processes like Engineering Change Orders, Transfer Order Processing
  • Proficiency in NetSuite configuration, customization, and scripting
  • Knowledge of system integrations and data migration.
  • Familiarity with PLM systems like Arena
  • Proven ability to write production‑quality code and review complex scripts with a critical eye for performance, maintainability, and correctness.
  • Experience authoring technical design documents and leading architecture reviews for significant NetSuite customizations, integrations, or module implementations.
  • Familiarity with middleware and integration platforms used to connect NetSuite with external systems such as PLM, Salesforce
  • NetSuite certifications such as SuiteFoundation, Administrator, or other relevant certifications, are preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Familiarity with Agile Software Development, Jira, Git
  • Demonstrated track record of improving team development and deployment practices — including testing discipline, code review culture, and release management.
  • Experience managing and growing engineering teams.
  • Strong cross‑functional communication skills, including the ability to present architectural decisions and technical trade‑offs to non‑technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
