Iquest Management Consultants in Hyderabad, India is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team across engineering design, planning, and development of complex projects. You will coordinate with vendors, prepare proposals, and drive project execution from concept to completion.

The role requires strong leadership, client-facing skills, and a focus on schedule, cost control, and safety, with collaboration across procurement, engineering and management teams.

Responsibilities

• Leading team of engineers, designers and other personnel involved in the design, planning and development of engineering projects as well as support personnel.
• Identify and build relationships with qualified vendors and consultants to assist with outsourced functions and negotiate terms of agreement.
• Seek new business opportunities through networking, sales meetings, negotiations, cultivating referral sources, etc.
• Pre-award activities such as preliminary design, tender drawings, material take-offs, cost estimation of material, plant & preliminaries, collaborating with commercial/procurement for quotations.
• Write and present project proposals and status reports.
• Review and approve all project plans and specifications; sign off on completion and at appropriate intervals.
• Determine and communicate project requirements, specs, goals and objectives to the team.
• Propose and manage budgets for projects; set and follow budgets; build relationships with internal customers.
• Schedule and assign work; procure supplies, equipment, and ancillary services as needed.
• Involvement in detailed design calculations and engineering data sheets.
• Plan and execute strategies to complete projects on time with project management coordination.
• Oversee all engineering and related projects, services, and functions.
• Front-end with clients and handle queries for various engineering disciplines.
• Manage design issues with subcontractors and ensure client design compliance.
• Oversee outputs, QA/QC, records and troubleshoot design problems from shop/field.
• Verify compliance with plans, standards, codes and regulations.
• Determine training needs and talent development.
• Hire, train, mentor and manage engineering personnel and CAD operators; ensure policy compliance.
• Maintain positive relations with external customers.
• Ensure interface with upper management support.
• Other duties to support engineering department and organization-wide needs.
• Leverage engineering expertise to identify workplace hazards; assess risks.
• Ensure engineering risks are addressed in assessments; implement mitigation measures.
• Collaborate to integrate safety measures into project plans and processes.

• Ensure staff training on EHS concerns; foster a safety-conscious culture.
