Job summary

Hashtag Global Solutions is seeking an Engineering Manager Data Engineering in Chennai. The role leads cloud/big data solution delivery, translates business needs into data platforms, and mentors a high-caliber engineering team toward strategic objectives.

The candidate will work with stakeholders to align on delivery cadence, implement best practices, and ensure high-quality code and scalable analytics solutions.

Qualifications

• 10–12+ years of IT experience with Cloud/Big Data, Analytics, Data Warehousing and BI.
• Experience leading a Data Engineering & Analytics project delivery following Agile methods.
• Senior technical manager with hands-on Cloud/Big Data solutions development.
• AWS Cloud Data infrastructure experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of cloud/big data solutions platform and guide scoping of work.
• Translate business requirements into big data technology solutions.
• Manage and mentor a high-caliber engineering team towards delivery goals.
• Coordinate with customer stakeholders on delivery status and cadence.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Taking leadership in the delivery of the cloud/big data solutions platform by...
  • Guide the team to deliver top-quality solution design and execution and providing support in defining the scope and sizing of work.
  • Utilize Big Data technologies to design, develop, and evolve scalable and fault-tolerant distributed components.
  • Responsible for translating business requirements into big data technology solutions.
• Manage and groom high caliber Engineering team towards delivery and organization goals.
• Manage customer stakeholders for alignment on project delivery, status reporting and cadence
• Guide team towards building frameworks, industry best practices, maintain high quality coding and delivery

Skills Preferred:

• 10-12+ years of overall IT experience with Cloud/ Big Data, Analytics, Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence.
• At least 3 4 years of experience in leading a Data Engineering & Analytics project delivery following Agile Methodologies
• Senior Technical Manager with hands on experience in the space of Cloud/ Big Data Solutions development.
• Having worked in AWS Cloud Data infrastructure environment is highly preferred.
• Good working knowledge of tools in the Cloud Ecosystem AWS glue, pySpark, Redshift, Hive, Databricks etc.
• Strong Engineering Management experience in Data domain.
• Strong people management skills. Ability to guide, groom team members towards organization goals.
