Job summary

Hilton Hotels Bengaluru seeks an Engineering Manager to lead the full engineering operations of the hotel’s systems and equipment. You will ensure the POMEC budget is used efficiently to satisfy guest needs and asset protection, under the direction of the property leadership.

You are expected to bring a strong engineering background with trade qualifications, and to be available for emergencies around the clock, driving safety, quality, and sustainability across hotel facilities.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or relevant certification required.
  • 10+ years in hotel/building services or related field, 5+ years as Chief/Assistant Chief Engineer in a 5-star hotel.
  • Trade-qualified in Electrical, Mechanical, or Plumbing/Gas Fitting.
  • Flexible schedule; 24/7 for emergencies.
  • Specialized knowledge in HVAC, water treatment, hydraulics, chillers, electronics, lighting, elevators, fire safety and related systems.
  • Maintaining hotel building services across security, A/C, plumbing, electrical, kitchen, laundry, lifts, and TV/sound systems.
  • Familiar with government regulations and technical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead facility operations: direct safety, functionality, and compliance of buildings and systems per regulations.
  • Oversee facility maintenance: supervise inspections, installation, maintenance, and repairs of electrical, mechanical, and architectural systems.
  • Support property improvement projects: oversee capital projects, budgeting, and licensing/permitting while ensuring compliance.
  • Oversee work order fulfillment: ensure maintenance requests are tracked in the maintenance system.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance: coordinate permits and inspections with government officials.
  • Cultivate a high-performing team: drive engagement and development.
  • Communicate across Engineering and other hotel areas to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain customer service focus, respecting guest privacy and comfort.
  • Drive sustainability and asset efficiency via building management systems.

In addition, this role requires the following minimum qualifications:

  • Engineering degree or relevant certification

  • Adapt to a flexible schedule; available 24/7 for emergencies
  • Specialized knowledge in HVAC, water treatment, hydraulics, chillers, electronics, lighting, elevators, fire safety, and related systems
  • Skilled in maintaining all hotel building services (e. g. , security, A/C, plumbing, electrical, kitchen, laundry, lifts, TV/sound systems)
  • Familiar with government regulations and technical standards

Here s what you ll do during a typical day:

  • Partner in leading facility operations: Assist in directing the functionality, safety, and compliance of buildings, mechanical systems, electrical systems, HVAC, life safety systems, and grounds in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Oversee facility maintenance: Perform facility inspections and supervise construction, installation, maintenance, and repairs of electrical, mechanical, and architectural systems
  • Support property improvement projects: Assist in directing capital projects and property rehabilitations - including scheduling, budgeting, contractor bidding, and licensing/permitting - while ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Oversee work order fulfillment: Ensure routine maintenance and repairs are assigned, verified, and documented in the property maintenance management system
  • Ensure regulatory compliance: Communicate with government officials to maintain permits, coordinate inspections, and uphold safety and code standards
  • Cultivate a high-performing team: Drive engagement and retention through performance management, professional development, and recognition programs
  • Communication Collaboration: Ensure professional, efficient, and thorough communication between Engineering and all other hotel areas, fostering positive interactions at both individual and department levels.
  • Customer Service Focus: Maintain a high customer service focus, respecting guest privacy and ensuring their comfort and confidentiality.
  • Sustainability Efficiency: Manage the Lightstay Corporate Responsibility platform, drive sustainability projects, and monitor asset efficiencies on the building automation system.
