Avathon seeks an AI Engineering Manager/Technical Leader (Computer Vision) in Bengaluru to lead a team of machine vision engineers and drive end-to-end CV model development and scalable backends.

You will shape technical strategy, collaborate with product, data science, and UX, and ensure ethical AI practices while advancing state-of-the-art CV capabilities across industrial applications.

Qualifications

AI Engineering Manager/ Technical Leader (Computer Vision)

Location: Bengaluru

We are looking for a highly skilled Computer Vision leader to join our product development team. As a Technical Leader- Computer Vision, you will be responsible for envisioning, architecting, designing, and directing a talented team of Machine Vision / AI Engineers in advanced Machine Vision algorithms and systems that enable machines to interpret and understand visual information from the industrial world.

The Industrial Computer Vision team at Avathon addresses hard, novel challenges that arise in product development. You'll bring your deep knowledge and proven machine learning expertise to develop cutting edge solutions that improve our products and help our customers. Qualified candidates are deeply analytical with a keen understanding of the intersection of Machine Vision and Software Engineering. You shall also have the inclination, and experience to conduct research that solves practical problems, have the communication skills to work closely with both research colleagues and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of AI engineers working on computer vision, deeplearning, and backend services.Oversee the end-to-end development lifecycle of computer vision models andscalable backend systems.
• Drive technical strategy and roadmap for AI-driven visual perception and backendsolutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, datascience, and UX design, to align business goals with engineering execution.
• Establish best practices for model development, API design, scalability, andperformance optimization.
• Ensure adherence to ethical AI practices, fairness, and bias mitigation in computervision applications.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI, computer vision, and backendtechnologies, incorporating new techniques where relevant.
• Drive operational excellence, including monitoring system performance, reliability,and security. Ensure adherence to accessibility, security, and compliancestandards.
• Establish best practices for mobile architecture, development, and DevOpspipelines

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or master's degree/ PhD in computer science, AI, Machine Vision Learning, or arelated field.
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3+ years in a leadershiprole as a Principal Engineering or Lead Scientist or Lead Development Engineer
• Good expertise in computer vision, deep learning, and AI model development. Preferably experience in YOLO object detection algorithm or similar Convolutional Neural Network algorithms. Experience in Deep Learning algorithms, experience with GPU programming
• Proficiency in Python, C++, or another relevant programming language. Preferably experience in YOLO object detection algorithm or similar Convolutional Neural Network algorithms
• Experience with cloud-based AI solutions (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and scalablebackend infrastructure.
• Oversee the end-to-end development lifecycle of mobile applications, from designto deployment.
