Impact Analytics is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead teams building scalable, cloud-native analytics platforms used by global retail customers. This role blends strong technical leadership in Python-based systems, people management, and ownership of platform reliability, observability, and performance for mission-critical SaaS products. You will work closely with the Product, Data Science, Architecture, and Customer Success teams to deliver high-quality solutions that power retail decision intelligence.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team of software engineers delivering Python-based analytics and SaaS platforms.
- Own delivery of complex, multi-service projects with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership in Python/Java/C++, PostgreSQL, and SQL-heavy systems.
- Drive architectural decisions aligned with Impact Analytics' data-intensive and API-driven platforms.
- Establish and mature observability, monitoring, alerting, and APM practices across services.
- Ensure high availability and performance of customer-facing systems in production.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams on cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and release readiness.
- Partner with Product Management and Data Science teams to translate retail business problems into robust engineering solutions.
- Lead agile execution, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives, and delivery tracking.
- Act as a coach and mentor supporting hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career growth.
- Communicate technical and delivery status effectively to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
Requirements
- 12-17 years of overall software engineering experience, including leading engineering teams.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Python/Java/C++ and PostgreSQL.
- Excellent SQL skills, including query optimization and handling large datasets.
- Proven experience managing and delivering Python-based products or platforms.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (experience on GCP is a strong plus).
- Deep knowledge of observability and application performance management, including metrics, logs, and distributed tracing; root cause analysis; and performance tuning.
- Strong experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to clearly present technical concepts to business and leadership audiences.
- Strong ownership mindset with attention to quality, reliability, and customer impact.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-centric SaaS environment.
Preferred / Added Advantage
- Exposure to frontend technologies such as ReactJS and modern web architectures.
- Experience in the retail domain, especially analytics, forecasting, pricing, assortment, or supply chain systems.
- Experience building data-heavy or analytics platforms at scale.
- Familiarity with microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
