What You'll Do

The Marketing Engineering organization in Strategy, Planning & Operations is looking for a Data Engineer eager to provide the engineering muscle for core work around data architecture, data pipeline development, and deploying production workflows to improve data and reporting needs for Marketing in an AI-driven environment.

You will be responsible for:

1. Working with a technical leader to lead major engineering initiatives supporting business decision-making.
2. Managing production data workflows, ensuring timely updates through a standard SDLC process.
3. Designing and developing new architectures and workflows to support Cisco Marketing's growing needs.

Who You'll Work With

You will report to a manager within Advanced Analytics and work directly with a Team Leader in the Engineering Center of Excellence. You will collaborate closely with Modelers, Business Stakeholders, Analytics Translators, and IT.

Who You Are

You enjoy working with data and promoting data insights adoption. Minimum qualifications include:

• Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL pipeline development.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Unix/Bash scripting.
• Experience with Docker, Git, and cloud platforms like Google Cloud and Azure.
• Ability to write complex, optimized SQL queries across large datasets.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Proven success in requirements gathering, data modeling, and strategy communication with users and technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• BS/MS in Computer Science or Engineering.
• 4-7 years of experience in Data Engineering or a similar role.
• Knowledge of software engineering practices, including agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
