Job summary

Merck Life Science in Bengaluru, India, invites talented engineers with a strong track record in CAPEX-driven pharma, chemical or biotech projects to join our facilities team.

The role focuses on managing design progress, safety, quality, budgets and permitting across local and international teams, with emphasis on GMP compliance and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in engineering (any major).
• 10+ years in engineering and construction management for Capex in Pharmaceutical, Chemical or Biotechnology industries.
• Experience in GMP projects and familiar with local GMP requirements.
• Experience in managing Design Company, General Contractor and Discipline Contractor, Project Management Company.
• Familiar with local design and construction regulations.
• Strong communication with clients and project stakeholders; able to present results and progress.
• Good knowledge of safety in design and strong safety management in construction.
• Team collaboration attitude.
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability in diverse situations.
• Detail-oriented with balanced efficiency; capable of adapting to change; experienced international environments a plus.
• PMP certification is a plus.

Who You Are

• Bachelor degree and/or Master degree with major in engineering related
• 10+ years working experience in engineering and construction management for Capex in-vestment project in Pharmaceutical, Chemical or Biotechnology industries.
• Experience in GMP project. Familiar with local GMP requirements
• Experience in managing Design Company, General Contractor and Discipline Contractor, Project Management Company
• Familiar with local design and construction regulations
• Service orientated to clients and project stakeholder with a good level of communication skills (need to present results and progress)
• Good knowledge of safety in design and strong in the safety management in construction
• Good Team corporation attitude
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of situations
• Focus on details with balance of efficiency, Good planner targeting right first time but keep agile for change required
• Experience in International company is a plus
• Certified PMP is a plus
