Job summary

Google Inc. is seeking an Engineering Analyst in Payments Trust and Safety to drive fraud risk assessments, analyze payments data, and support mitigation strategies.

You will work with engineers, product teams, and policy specialists to safeguard users and partners across Google products. The role requires 2+ years in data analysis and project management, with strong problem-solving skills and experience in Python or similar tools.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications:

• 4 years of experience in the Payments industry, working on risk or fraud management.
• Experience in querying and analyzing large sets of data.
• Strong project and program management skills and experience.
• Working knowledge in one or more of the following areas: statistical analysis and machine learning libraries (e.g., R, Scikit-learn,TensorFlow), programming languages (e.g., Python, C/C++), Large Language Models (LLMs) or Generative AI.
• Demonstrated ability to identify workflow pain points, optimize, automate and scale processes.

Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail in an ever-changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Promote user trust and safety by managing and mitigating payment fraud and abuse for Google products and services.
• Investigate fraud and abuse incidents, identify patterns and trends in order to generate holistic risk management solutions.Perform end-to-end assessment of the riskiness and vulnerability of products and features, design, and implement fraud and abuse mitigation strategies.
  
• Perform statistical analysis using payments and risk data warehouse. Collaborate with engineering and product teams to create and enhance tools, develop signals, improve system functionality, accuracy and efficiency.
• Engage and collaborate with cross-functional teams globally. Work closely with engineers, product managers, and various internal and external stakeholders to launch risk mitigation solutions.

Participate in the on call rotation schedule to manage high priority escalations that may occur outside of standard non work hours including weekends/holidays.
