Job summary

ICE in Hyderabad, India is seeking an experienced DevOps/System Engineer to design, implement, and maintain server solutions for high availability. You will automate tasks, evaluate new technologies, and support production operations around the clock.

The role requires strong Linux knowledge and scripting, plus experience with configuration management and CI/CD tools. The ideal candidate will participate in weekend assignments and on-call rotations, ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with Linux operating systems (RedHat variants preferred).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, GoLang, etc.
• Experience with automation/configuration management using Puppet, Ansible, Chef, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with git, foreman, Jenkins, or equivalent tooling.
• Knowledge of multi-tiered, highly available, and resilient application design.
• Understanding of scaling for performance and high availability
• Ability to specify hardware requirements and make recommendations based on application needs
• Experience leveraging AI tooling to improve work quality and efficiency
• Understanding of core system security & hardening concepts and processes
• Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills
• Customer-focused, and dedicated to the best possible user experience
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing)

• Provide support to, and coordinate with, developers, operations staff, release engineers, and end-users
• Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve project goals and maintain system integrity
• Participate in a weekly on-call rotation for after-hours support

Responsibilities

• Take part in periodic, scheduled weekend assignments to support essential project deliveries

Knowledge And Experience

• 3+ years of experience with Linux operating systems (RedHat variants preferred)

• Working knowledge of horizontal and vertical scaling for performance and high availability

Desired Knowledge And Experience

• Degree in engineering discipline or equivalent experience in Systems Engineering
• 1+ years’ experience building and supporting Windows server infrastructure
• Experience building and supporting bare-metal enterprise servers such as HPE, DELL, IBM, etc.
• Experience with server virtualization technologies (VMWare, Proxmox, etc.)
• Familiarity and experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Tanzu, etc.)
• Strong understanding of networking protocols and configuration (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, InfiniBand, etc.)
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining low-latency computing ecosystems
