Job summary

Ather Energy is looking for an Engineer - Supplier Quality at its Sambhajinagar facility to monitor supplier quality metrics and drive improvements. You will lead root cause analysis and corrective actions with suppliers to ensure defect-free parts from the supply chain.

Collaborating with Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Management and Design teams, you will execute PPAP, support IATF/ISO audits, and uphold high-quality standards across processes and measurement systems.

Qualifications

• B Tech or BE in Mechanical / CIPET required.
• 6–10 years’ experience in Automotive OEM or Tier-1 supplier.
• Experience with IATF/ISO quality management systems.
• Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Record bugs, deviations and implement containment, RCA, CAPA.
• Lead RCA on process failures and approve RCA Reports & CAPA.
• Conduct supplier process audits and drive continual improvements.
• Approve gage/tooling measurement systems and calibrations.
• Drive preventive maintenance of supplier manufacturing fixtures and lines.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Management and Design Engineering to ensure top quality.

Role: Engineer - Supplier Quality

Location: Ather Factory 3.0, Sambhajinagar (AURIC)

Reporting to: Lead of Supplier Quality

Team name: Supplier Quality

About the Team and the Role

• Performance monitoring of Plastic molding and associated commodities: Monitor key supplier quality metrics such as Defective Parts Per Million (PPM), Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and Straight Pass Ratio (SPR).
• Driving improvement plans: leading Supplier improvements for the Non conformities and Supplier internal rejections.

Responsibilities

• Record bugs (Quality issues), deviations and implement appropriate containment, RCA, corrective and preventive actions.
• Lead RCA on failures due to process and Approve RCA Reports & CAPA.
• Supplier process audits and continual improvements.
• Gage/Tooling Approval: Ensure supplier measurement systems and tooling (e.g., check fixtures, CMM programs) are capable and calibrated to measure critical-to-quality ffeatures and dimensions.
• Preventive Maintenance of Supplier Manufacturing FTG: Drive for scheduled maintenance and restoration of Complete line set up at Supplliers.
• Work closely with the Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Management and Design Engineering teams to ensure highest levels of Manufacturing Quality.

Experience and Qualifications

• B Tech or Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical / CIPET
• Experience of 6~10 years in Automotive OEM or Tier 1 Supplier

Must Have Competencies

• Demonstrate expert-level proficiency in conducting detailed Root Cause Analysis and implementing effective 8D problem-solving methodologies.
• Apply expert knowledge of PFMEA to identify and mitigate risks during the process design and and manufacturing stages
• Execute advanced level Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) to ensure supplier manufacturing readiness and part compliance.
• Apply advanced auditing skills in IATF and ISO standards to evaluate supplier Quality Management Systems and process compliance.
• Hands-on experience in Metrology, MSA, SPC, Relation Gauges and GD&T.

Good to have Competencies

• Adjusting to change and giving Support to the cross functional team (CFT)
• Collecting, Stratifying Data and Data interpretation to draw conclusions.
