Job summary

Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to research, design, develop, simulate, and validate systems‑level software, hardware, architecture, algorithms, and solutions. You will ensure system‑level requirements and standards are met while collaborating across functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
• Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field and 3+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
• PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Leverages advanced Systems knowledge to research, design, develop, simulate, and/or validate systems‑level software, hardware, architecture, algorithms, and solutions while ensuring system‑level requirements and standards are met.
• Performs complex functional analysis to drive requirements and specifications and to define and align with standards for hardware and software.
• Develops and analyzes complex system level design including requirements, interface definition, functional/performance definition, and implementation of a new system or modification of an existing system.
• Collaborates with cross‑functional teams to complete project work, including implementing and verifying the system.
• Develops algorithms and works on new and innovative ideas for a product or feature area.
• Drives triage of complex problems at the system level to determine root cause and presents results of testing and debugging to internal and external stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 8+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
• 4+ years of 4G/5G/6G systems and associated cellular standards (e.g., 3GPP NR, LTE, 3G).
• 3+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
• 1+ year of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Sr. Staff level and above).

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Leverages advanced Systems knowledge and experience to research, design, develop, simulate, and/or validate systems‑level software, hardware, architecture, algorithms, and solutions while ensuring system‑level requirements and standards are met.
• Performs complex functional analysis to drive requirements and specifications and to define and align with standards for hardware and software.
• Develops and analyzes complex system level design including requirements, interface definition, functional/performance definition, and implementation of a new system or modification of an existing system.
• Collaborates with cross‑functional teams (e.g., product management teams, engineering teams, etc.) to complete project work, including implementing and verifying the system.
• Develops algorithms and works on new and innovative ideas (e.g., IDFs) for a product or feature area.
• Drives triage of complex problems at the system level to determine root cause and presents results of testing and debugging to internal and external stakeholders.

Level Of Responsibility

• Works independently with minimal supervision.
• Provides supervision/guidance to other team members.
• Decision‑making may affect work beyond immediate work group.
• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information; may require negotiation, influence, and tact.
• Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to make key decisions).
• Tasks do not have defined steps; planning, problem‑solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
