Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in Surat, Gujarat, India, seeks a fabrication supervisor to oversee the production of pressure and non‑pressure components for boilers. You will manage welding and cutting operations, ensure safety and 5S housekeeping, and apply lean manufacturing to boost efficiency.

Coordinate with outsourcing, quality control, and welding teams; apply knowledge of SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW welding processes and plasma cutting to maintain First-Time Right quality.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of welding & cutting processes.
• Experience supervising unionized and contract workmen.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and housekeeping (5S).
• Experience with lean manufacturing to improve efficiency.
• Familiarity with SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW welding processes.
• Knowledge of bending, distortion correction, and plasma cutting.
• Experience with Kaizen and continuous improvement.
• Proficiency in SAP and general computer operations.

• Should have knowledge welding & cutting processes
• Supervise both unionized and contract workmen to ensure efficient manufacturing within specified timeframes and allocated resources.
• Prioritize safety, quality (First‑Time Right), and housekeeping (5S) initiatives.
• Leverage knowledge of lean manufacturing practices to enhance efficiency.
• Coordinate activities across various service departments, including outsourcing, quality control, and welding.
• Familiarity with welding processes such as SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and FCAW, along with an understanding of different welding defects.
• Troubleshoot issues related to bending, distortion correction, and plasma cutting.
• Embrace the continuous improvement philosophy of Kaizen.
• Proficiency in SAP and general computer operations.
