Job summary

Eaton Technologies Pvt Ltd in Pune invites a design engineer to perform design, simulations and analysis of power electronic circuits to meet customer/product specific technical, cost and market related requirements. You will work on high power electronics design including DC-DC converters, inverters, magnetics, and PCB guidelines, using PSpice/LTSpice and possibly Ansys.

You will ensure EMC/EMI compliance and adherence to DO-160/DO178/DO254, IEC and SAE standards, collaborating with hardware

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Power Electronics and Drives with design exposure.
• 2+ years for MTech/ME; 4+ years for BTech/BE in related roles.
• Experience in DC-DC converters, inverters and power electronics hardware lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge in high power electronics design for DC-DC and inverter systems.
• Experience in magnetics design for high frequency transformers and inductors.
• Hands-on with power electronics simulation tools like PSpice and LTSpice.
• Conducts steady-state and transient circuit analyses and prepares schematics.
• Plans and leads small tasks/projects; ensures activity execution and closure.
• Understands EMC filtering and compliance with IEC, CISPR, ISO standards.
• Familiar with PCB design guidelines for high speed and EMI/EMC considerations.
• Supports hardware development lifecycle including requirements, design, verification, certification.

Job Summary

What you ll do: The primary responsibility of this role is to perform design, simulations and analysis of power electronic circuits to meet customer/product specific technical, cost and market related technology requirements.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates the knowledge in high power electronics design especially in Power Electronics DC-DC converter and Inverter design
• Experience in Magnetics design in High frequency transformer and inductor
• Hands-on experience in Power Electronics Simulation tools like PSpIce and LTSpice Simulation.
• Good in circuit level analysis like steady state and transient analysis
• Prepares schematics by using computer assisted engineering design software Spice
• Responsible for activity planning, execution and closing of assigned activities.
• Plans, Organizes, and leads smaller assigned tasks / projects.
• Basic knowledge in EMC filter selection
• Good Knowledge of IEC, CISPR, ISO standards.
• Good knowledge on PCB design guidelines for SI, high speed design & EMI/EMC.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor s or Masters Degree in Power Electronics and Drives Engineering with 0-5 years design experience.
• Total relevant work experience: MTech/ME with 2+ years or BTech/BE with 4+

Skills

• Hands-on experience in Power Electronics design like converters and Inverters, Simulation tools like PSpIce Simulation, LTSpice Simulation.
• It would be good to be aware of Ansys simulation.
• Required:
• Sound knowledge of electrical & electronic design especially in Inverter and converters design
• Experience of full Hardware development life cycle including requirements management, design, development, verification & validation, qualification & certification testing.
• Experience in designing and implementing different AC-DC, DC-DC converters & motor inverters for different applications, including the selection of switching devices, gate driver selection, modulation techniques and filter design.
• Knowledge of Si and Silicon Carbide (SiC) and Gallium Nitride (GaN) power semiconductors and their application in power electronics to improve efficiency and performance.
• Ability to integrate power electronic systems into larger electrical systems, understanding system-level interactions, and ensuring seamless compatibility.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting power electronic systems, conducting failure analysis, and implementing corrective actions to resolve issues and improve product reliability.
• Should be able to analyze the analog & digital Circuits for Functional, performing FMEA s, Stress, Derating, Worst-case & Tolerance study using analysis.
• Good to have Knowledge of DO-160, DO178/DO254, IEC, SAE standards and Certification processes.
• Desired:
• Good knowledge on PCB design guidelines & EMI/EMC.
• Strong knowledge in the design and development of electronics, both high power and low power, analog, and digital.
• Strong knowledge on Electronics controller product lifecycle management within Aerospace.
• Strong knowledge in Power Converter design.
• Good working experience on simulations any of the tool Pspice, Matlab, Simulink, SiMetrix, PLECS.
• Special:
• Automotive/Aero/Defense domain knowledge for High power design & layout rules expertise
• Strong knowledge of EMI / EMC certification and environmental compliances - CE, e/E markings process.
• Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
