Job summary

WSP India is seeking an Engineer - Plumbing & Fire Protection to design, develop and supervise plumbing and fire protection systems for a range of projects. You will collaborate with architects, project managers and contractors to ensure safe, efficient, and code-compliant installations.

The ideal candidate holds a civil/mechanical engineering degree, 8+ years of relevant experience, proficiency in CAD tools such as Revit, and a PE license or equivalent certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering; plumbing specialization preferred.
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in plumbing and fire protection design, installation, or project management.
• Professional Engineer license or equivalent certification is desirable.
• Proficient CAD skills for plumbing system design; hydraulic calculations understanding.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA, National Plumbing Code, and International Plumbing Code.

As a Engineer - Plumbing & Fire Protection, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the installation of plumbing & fire protection systems for various projects. Key Competencies / Skills

Mandatory Skills

• Education: A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field is typically required. Specialization in plumbing engineering is an advantage.

• Experience: Prior experience in plumbing and fire protection system design, installation, or project management is highly desirable. Should have minimum 8+ Years of relevant experience in design.

• Licenses and Certifications: Possessing relevant professional certifications and licenses, such as a Professional Engineer (PE) license, demonstrates expertise and enhances credibility.

• Technical Skills: Proficient in using computer-aided design (CAD) software for plumbing system design and possess a good understanding of hydraulic calculations.

• Knowledge: Strong knowledge of plumbing & fire codes, regulations, and industry standards, including NFPA code, National Plumbing Code and International Plumbing Code.

• Analytical Skills: Capable of analysing complex engineering problems and providing innovative solutions.

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and present technical information concisely.

• Good presentation skills are also required

• The applicant will have proven experience in the design of Building Services with significant experience in a similar role or demonstration of a good track record.

• This includes undertaking feasibility studies and developing concepts through to detailed design, specification and tender to the required standards.

• Must be fully conversant with technical software, such as Pipe net and OEM manufacturer’s software.

• A sound understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Project is essential

• Must be fluent in English with an excellent understanding of technical terminology.

• The applicants should ideally have obtained or apply for British Chartered Engineer status or equivalent, possess a degree in Building Services Engineering and possess membership to an accredited engineering body i.e. CIBSE, INSRAE, ASHRAE, Institute of Plumbing.

• Excellent working knowledge of NBC, NFPA, HK, and other local codes and good working knowledge of UK-BS standards codes would be advantageous.

• Hands on experience in Autodesk Revit modelling software is an added advantage.

• Should have a degree in Civil/Environmental/Mechanical

• 5+ years technical experience.
