Responsibilities vary by industry, such as marine, hotel, manufacturing, construction, or facility management.## **Key Responsibilities of a Chief Engineer**### **1. Technical Operations and Management*** Oversee all engineering operations and technical activities.* Ensure the efficient and reliable operation of machinery, equipment, and systems.* Develop and implement maintenance schedules and operating procedures.* Monitor equipment performance and troubleshoot technical problems.* Ensure minimum downtime and maximum operational efficiency.### **2. Maintenance and Repairs*** Plan and supervise preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.* Diagnose equipment failures and coordinate repair activities.* Ensure timely servicing, inspection, and replacement of equipment.* Maintain maintenance records, technical logs, and reports.* Coordinate with external contractors and service providers.### **3. Team Leadership and Supervision*** Lead, train, and supervise engineers, technicians, and maintenance personnel.* Assign duties, establish work priorities, and monitor performance.* Conduct technical training and safety briefings.* Ensure proper coordination between engineering and other departments.* Evaluate staff performance and support professional development.### **4. Project Planning and Implementation*** Plan and supervise equipment installation, upgrades, and modernization.* Evaluate technical proposals and engineering designs.* Coordinate with suppliers, consultants, and contractors.* Monitor project schedules, budgets, quality, and safety.* Ensure commissioning, testing, and handover of completed projects.### **7.
