Design and develop switchgear assemblies, electrical panel enclosures, mechanical components, frames, and sheet metal assemblies in compliance with applicable international and national standards such as IEC, UL, and IS.
Create detailed 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Manage end-to-end type test activities, including sample preparation, documentation, laboratory coordination, test witnessing, and design updates based on test results.
Travel as required to NABL- testing laboratories (Such as ERDA ,CPRI ) to coordinate, witness, and ensure the successful completion of product type testing and certification activities. Travel to supplier facilities and customer sites may also be required to support prototype evaluation and technical activities.
Collaborate closely with the Electrical Design Engineering team to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electrical systems within switchgear and control panel assemblies.
Support New Product Development (NPD) activities by developing innovative, manufacturable, and cost-effective mechanical designs from concept through production release.
Perform design validation, prototype evaluation, and engineering analysis to verify product performance, functionality, reliability, and compliance with applicable standards.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for cost reduction, product enhancement, standardization, and manufacturing efficiency without compromising safety, quality, or performance.
Provide technical support to production, fabrication, and assembly teams by resolving design related issues and implementing engineering changes during manufacturing.
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for sourcing mechanical components and fabricated parts, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, quality requirements, and cost targets.
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering – Mandatory.
Candidates with relevant internship/project experience in sheet metal, electrical panels or industrial product development will be preferred.
1–2 years of experience in Mechanical Design / NPD / Product Development.
Experience in LV Control Panel, Switchgear, Electrical Panel, Sheet Metal or Enclosure Manufacturing is preferred.
Freshers with strong Mechanical Design and AutoCAD skills may also be considered.
