Job summary

Quest Global in Bengaluru is seeking a mechanical design engineer to work on Industrial Gas Turbine components across compressors, combustion and turbine parts. You will contribute across the product lifecycle from concept to detailed design and support production through deviations and investigations.

Ideal candidates will have 7–12 years in mechanical design with CAD and NX, experience in gas turbine architecture, and a focus on cost reduction and robust documentation in English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in mechanical, production or aerospace engineering.
• 7–12 years of experience in mechanical design, CAD and detailed drawings.
• Minimum 6–7 years of experience in UG or NX.
• Experience working on Gas Turbine components and knowledge of Gas Turbine architecture.

Position Overview

At Quest Global, we work on design, development and technical support of Industrial Gas Turbine components for the R&D department of one of our Energy customers. Quest Global projects include generation of cost reduction ideas & implementation in production engines and resolution of technical fault reports in fleet engines.

Responsibilities

The work covers the entire product lifecycle – from early concepts generation and technical evaluation to detailed design and finished product implementation. An important part of the business is also to support production and suppliers through deviation management, qualifications and technical investigations. We are now looking for a mechanical design engineer who wants to work with technical matters related to Industrial Gas Turbine components across Compressors, Combustion and Turbine parts.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Masters of Science in mechanical, production or aerospace engineering.
• 7–12 years of experience in mechanical design, CAD and detailed drawings.
• Minimum 6–7 years of experience in UG or NX.
• Experience working on Gas Turbine components and knowledge of Gas Turbine architecture.
• Ability to develop conceptual designs, select preferred solutions and drive implementation.
• Awareness of cost optimization and ability to propose cost reduction ideas.
• Knowledge and awareness of SAP and PLM.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes (DFM) and production systems.
• Experience in design and development of additive manufactured parts.
• Ability to take responsibility and drive technical matters forward independently as a design engineer.
• Thrives on collaboration and multiple interfaces.
• Ability to perform risk analysis (DFMEA) and mitigate key risks.
• Ability to create detailed technical presentations and good communication skills in English for Design Reviews and Business Gates.
• Ability to author Design Reports capturing requirements, compliance statements, and technical details.
• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8–10 years of experience in electrical design using UG NX.
• Mechanical system design engineering experience.
• Ability to work independently in an efficient way.
