Job summary

Flex is expanding its Chennai team with an Engineer - Manufacturing Engineer to support new product introduction, process engineering, and manufacturing optimization. The role focuses on creating work instructions, FMEA, RFQ support, NPI documentation, and daily production/ downtime reporting in a fast-paced EMS environment.

The candidate should have a BE in EEE/ECE with 4–7 years in manufacturing, strong communication, and MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• B.E. (EEE/ECE) graduate with 4–7 years of experience as a NPI/SMT, Process Engineer in Manufacturing
• Experience in EMS industry preferred
• Excellent written and oral communication skills mandatory

Responsibilities

• Create and update Work Instructions for New Product and Engineering Changes
• Support cycle time estimation study and NRE estimation for RFQ preparation
• Create Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis for New product
• Support for PR Creation and follow-up
• Support for NPI and its documentation
• Prepare Daily plan / production downtime analysis report, Industrial engineering cycle time calculation report
• Prepare OEE and Equipment utilization reports

What a typical day looks like:

• Create Work Instruction for New Product and Update Work Instruction for Engineering Changes
• Support Cycle time estimation study and NRE estimation (NRE) estimation for Request for Quote (RFQ) preparation
• Create Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis for New product
• Support for PR Creation and follow-up
• Support for NPI and its documentation
• Prepare Daily plan / production downtime analysis report, Industrial engineering Cycle time calculation report
• Prepare Over all equipment efficiency report (OEE) and Equipment utilization report
• Prepare Over all equipment efficiency report (OEE) and Equipment utilization report

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

B.E. (EEE/ECE) graduate with (4-7) years of experience as a NPI/SMT, Process Engineer in Manufacturing set up, Preferably in EMS Industry

Knowledge of electrical and electronic components

Excellent written and oral communication skills MANDATORY.

Working Knowledge of MS Office tools (MS Excel, MS Word)

Good team player

Minimum 4- 7 years of experience as a in a Manufacturing set up, preferably in EMS industry.
