Job summary

WSP India is seeking a Low Voltage Design Engineer to deliver LV design outputs for railway infrastructure projects in Sweden from the GCC (India).

The role focuses on production, coordination, and quality delivery of LV design packages, ensuring compliance with Swedish standards and alignment with project teams in Sweden. You will work with Signalling, Telecom, OLE, and Civil teams to ensure interfaces are clash-free and on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5–8 years of Electrical design experience for rail/transport projects.
• Familiarity with Swedish/European rail telecom standards.
• Knowledge of LV systems (lighting, UPS, panels, fire alarm, CCTV).
• Ability to read electrical drawings and perform electrical calculations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

• Prepare cable routing plans and schedules.
• Ensure on-time, high-quality delivery per timelines.
• Manage power supply, LV distribution, and related systems (lighting, emergency lighting, UPS, CCTV, PA/PIDS, access control, fire alarm, location box lighting, point machine heating).
• Perform load calculations and circuit design.
• Perform cable sizing and equipment selection.
• Coordinate with Sweden-based teams and address design comments.
• Participate in design coordination and reviews.
• Collaborate with Signalling, Telecom, OLE, Civil teams.
• Adhere to QA/QC processes and document control.

We are seeking a Low Voltage Design Engineer to deliver design outputs for railway infrastructure projects in Sweden from the GCC (India).

Responsibilities

Low Voltage Systems Design

• Deliver LV design packages for Concept, Detailed, and IFC stages
• Prepare Schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts
• Prepare Cable routing plans and schedules
• Ensure on-time, high-quality delivery as per project timelines
• Power supply distribution and arrangements for Lighting & emergency lighting, LV distribution, UPS, CCTV, PA/PIDS, access control, fire alarm, location box lighting, point machine heating arrangements.
• Perform Load calculations and circuit design
• Perform Cable sizing and equipment selection

Sweden Compliance & Standards

• Follow Trafikverket standards
• Follow EN / IEC requirements
• Use Sweden-specific Naming conventions
• Use Sweden-specific Templates and delivery processes

Coordination (GCC-Sweden Model)

• Work closely with Sweden-based teams
• Address Design comments and mark-ups
• Address Technical clarifications
• Participate in Design coordination and review meetings

Multi-Discipline Integration

• Coordinate with Signalling, Telecom, OLE, Civil teams
• Ensure interface alignment and clash-free design

Quality & Productivity (Key GCC Focus)

• Deliver First-time-right outputs
• Deliver Self-checked and compliant designs
• Follow Project delivery processes, QA/QC processes and document control
• Support Standardization and efficiency improvements

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum 5-8 years of experience in Electrical design for rail or transportation projects.
• Experience: Familiarity with Swedish and European rail telecom standards.
• Knowledge of LV systems (lighting, UPS, panels, fire alarm, CCTV), Cable routing, earthing, power distribution.
• Ability to Read electrical drawings and schematics.
• Ability to Perform electrical calculations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within deadlines.
