Job summary

Stryker is a global leader in medical technologies and provides innovative products across MedSurg, Neurotechnology, Orthopaedics and Spine. We are seeking a Tools Administrator/Systems Engineer to support requirements management, system engineering, and tool deployment across projects.

Ideal candidates will have a CS/CE background with 2–7 years of experience, knowledge of engineering lifecycle processes, and hands-on scripting in Python to customize workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or related field is preferred.
• 2–7 years of experience.
• Understanding of engineering lifecycle phases and design control processes; knowledge of requirements management and test management, traceability.
• Experience with defect tracking; ability to develop software using Python or other scripting language; ability to interpret electrical design and systems.

Responsibilities

• Work with product development team on requirements management and system engineering.
• Assist in deployment of tools like JAMA; act as administrator with leaders, units and SMEs on project use cases.
• Train users; configure, support, maintain and improve tools and processes; qualify tools.
• Perform tasks including user account maintenance, create filters and custom reports/dashboards for projects.
• Write scripts/ software to customize workflows and configurations.
• Manage release cycles; validate software tools; upgrade, backup and baseline project folders.

Job description

• Work with product development team and help them with requirements management and system engineering.
• Assist in the deployment of tools such as JAMA etc. Work closely as administrator with functional leaders, organizational units, and subject matter experts on use case for projects and their processes.
• Train people, execute day-to-day configuration, support, maintenance and improvement of the tools, qualification of the tools and associated processes.
• Perform and own tasks including, but not limited to:
• User account maintenance, create filters and custom reports or dashboards for each project, as needed.
• Write script/ software to customize workflows and create configurations.
• Manage release cycles and validate the software tools and upgrade, backup, and baseline the project folders within each software tool.

What you need:

Required Qualifications:

• Experience with software and hardware defect tracking process and develop software using Python or any other scripting language & ability to understand and interpret electrical design and systems.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of JAMA workflows or similar tools like JIRA, DOORS, IBM SYNERGY, PTC INTEGRITY with experience of working in a SCRUM or Agile environment preferred
• Ability to assess the impact of system and functional requirements on all upstream and downstream applications, systems and processes.
• Work with our management team to establish suitable processes to support software and product development, and change management activities
• Knowledge of JAMA workflows or similar tools like JIRA. DOORS, IBM SYNERGY, PTC INTEGRITY
