Job summary

Pratt & Whitney India Engineering Center in Bengaluru is seeking a software engineer for web development. You will join the EDSI Aftermarket engineering team responsible for development, deployment, and support of software applications that automate engineering and business processes.

The role involves full stack development, creating user-centric pages and components, ensuring high UX, and setting up scalable cloud infrastructure while collaborating across functions to deliver high-quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science with 4+ years of experience or Advanced degree with 2+ years.
• 2+ years of experience in Python, JavaScript, HTML, SQL, CSS.
• 2+ years of experience in full stack software development.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot efficiently.
• Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to learn new languages, libraries, and frameworks.

Job Description:

We are looking for software engineer for web development to join our team at the Pratt & Whitney India Engineering Center (IEC) in Bengaluru India. The successful candidate will join the EDSI Aftermarket engineering organization’s team responsible for the development, deployment, and support of game-changing software applications which includes the automation of both technical and business processes that will enable Pratt & Whitney to continually push the state of the art in engineering processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Learn and understand the needs of the engineering organization and translate those needs into clear software requirements which will drive the design, development, and testing of high-quality software for the engineering organization.


• Develop new user-centric pages, components, and apps.


• Ensure feasibility and excellent user experience.


• Setup scalable server infrastructure and databases in the cloud environment.


• Opportunity for full stack development and being involved in all stages of the software development process.


• Exhibit the project leadership in terms of milestones, schedules & quality of deliverables.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (with 4+ yr experience) or Advanced degree (with 2+ yr experience) in Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science.


• 2+ year of experience in ANY of the following: Python, JavaScript, HTML, SQL, CSS.


• 2+ years of experience in full stack software development.


• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and debug issues efficiently.


• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.


• Strong developer who is comfortable learning new languages, libraries, and frameworks

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of server-side languages and frameworks such as Django (Python) / Express.js (Node).


• Expertise in building user interfaces and experiences with React / Vue.js.


• Proficiency in working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL)


• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.


• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
