Job summary

AtkinsRéalis India Private Limited seeks a Structural Engineer to deliver detailed structural design for water and wastewater facilities, including treatment units, reservoirs and pumping stations. You will develop 3D models using Revit/Civil 3D and prepare design reports and drawings while ensuring buildability and compliance with international codes.

The role involves cross-disciplinary coordination, adherence to safety standards, and mentoring of graduates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering; Master’s in Structural Engineering preferred.
• 5+ years total experience; 2+ years in Water & Wastewater industry.
• Experience with service reservoirs, WWTP units, pumping stations, concrete design and detailing.
• Familiarity with Euro codes and 3D modeling tools like Revit/Civil 3D/Navisworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead or check outline and detailed designs for water/wastewater treatment units.
• Produce design calculations and drawings ensuring buildability and safety.
• Coordinate with project leads and other disciplines; mentor junior engineers.

Job Description Overview

As a Structural Engineer, you will be embedded with Civil & Structural team within W&E Practice and will be responsible for projects design outputs, you will need to liaise with Project lead, design Leads and other disciplines alongside this role to deliver work efficiently. You will be responsible for detailed structural design of various elements for Treatment plants, Water and wastewater utilities, Environment protection works, preparation of structural reports and reinforcement drawings, create structural models by using computer-aided design software, follow construction safety guidelines, choose appropriate materials based on structural specifications.

Your Role

Your Role Originating or Checking of Outline and detailed design of various Water and Wastewater treatment units Providing solutions for designs from buildability point of view. Originator of calculations to international codes of practice Addressing the TQs, Site RFIs Checking of calculations and drawings Ensure compliance with UK Health & Safety requirements and CDM Regulations and incorporate design for safety Ensure compliance with Atkins Quality Management Procedures Deliver projects on time and to quality and budget Mentoring of Graduate/Assistant Engineers.

About You

Qualifications & Skills Degree in Civil Engineering and Masters degree in Structural Engineering (preferred). More than total 5 (x) years of professional experience with minimum 2 year of experience in the Water & Wastewater Industry. Experience of working in the water Industry - Structural design of service reservoirs, various Water and Wastewater treatment units, pumping stations, Reservoirs, Retaining walls, Thrust blocks, Outfalls, Headworks, Manholes, Concrete design mix, Pipe bedding etc. International Experience is preferred, mainly UK, Europe. Familiarity with Euro Codes of Practices. Experience of Detailed design drawings, Calculations and Bar Bending Schedules. Design reports and Concrete specifications. Experience of various stages of project delivery - Schematic to Detailed design and Site / Construction Support Understanding of Interfaces with other disciplines. Understanding of 3D environment, Revit, Civil 3D, Naviswork, Clash detection, Inter Department Coordinations etc. Microsoft Office Proficient, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Report Writing etc.

Desirable Criteria

Software – Autodesk Robot. International experience Experience of training and mentoring Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership. We actively support staff in achieving corporate membership of relevant institutions Worked before in UK Design and Built Projects. Site layouts, Site drainage, Earthworks, Bulkworks, Site grading etc Detailed design of steel structures and connections. Seismic Design of Liquid retaining structures. Precast concrete panel designs.

Ability to contribute to the project management of detailed design of projects. Ability to apply, promote/improve quality systems Strong analytical skills.
