Job summary

Kantata is looking for an Engineer II (SX) to join our Salesforce development team. You’ll design, build, and maintain components powering Kantata SX, collaborating in an agile environment to deliver new features and maintain existing builds on the Force.com platform.

You’ll work with product management to scope and develop PSA features, resolve issues escalated by support, and contribute to scalable architecture.

Qualifications

• Intermediate-level experience in software development on the force.com platform.
• Familiar with agile development approaches such as estimating and sprint cycles.
• Clear communication through design documentation and presentations.
• Experience across all layers of web-based SaaS solutions on Salesforce.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements with product managers and translate them into user stories.
• Own end-to-end design and delivery of key functional areas in Kantata's Salesforce app.
• Contribute to Kantata's Salesforce patterns to deliver unique features.
• Deliver scalable features using UI, Apex, and SOQL with efficient design.
• Prototype rapidly to propose solutions for complex challenges.

About The Role

As a Salesforce Developer at Kantata, you’ll be responsible for the ongoing design, build, and maintenance of the application components that make up the Kantata SX solution. You’ll be part of a highly-agile team to support the market with new feature development, maintaining current builds, and working collaboratively with peers to solve interesting challenges in the market. Kantata is a SaaS product built using Salesforce technology and delivered on the Force.com platform. Kantata's SX and OX products are the leaders in the Professional Services management space. Kantata SX is uniquely positioned to serve enterprise customers who are using Salesforce at a foundational level within their operations stack.

About The Opportunity

This unique, hands-on role involves working closely with the Kantata Product Management team to scope, plan, design, and develop new Kantata PSA features as part of a sprint-based delivery model. You’ll be influential on the team by owning, shaping, and developing functionality to satisfy the enhancements raised by our customers and features from our product backlog. Working cross-functionally, you’ll also investigate and resolve issues escalated from our client support team; identifying root cause and engineering fixes and changes, when needed.

Goals and Responsibilities

Owning aspects of our product solution, you’ll work on ensuring we can meet our ongoing commitment to customers to build and release innovative and engaging new features and enhancements. You’ll be supported by a mature and experienced development team and empowered to make large impacts in the hands-on development of our application. Ownership through each build is established with a full-stack focus and you’ll work exclusively with the Force.com platform and other Salesforce technologies, such as Visualforce, Lightning components, Apex and custom objects along with Javascript, HTML, and CSS. Our next addition to the team will be key to supporting the development of the overall solution architecture, with a focus on performance and process improvement. Success will stem from:

• Working with product managers to analyze requirements, understand and develop user stories, and designing features and functionality that solve the needs of our customers
• Taking responsibility for the end-to-end design and delivery of key functional areas in our app, becoming a subject matter expert
• Contributing to Kantata’s patterns and practices within the Salesforce platform to deliver and maintain unique product features
• Delivering optimized features that can scale to the needs of our enterprise clients using efficient UI, Apex, and SOQL design
• Delivering rapid prototyping that quickly envisions and credibly proposes solutions to complex challenges

Your Profile

You’re a strong engineer with a background in Salesforce development and performance optimization. Solving problems is your motivator and you influence by example. You’ve got experience in designing and implementing across all layers of web-based SaaS solutions and enjoy a truly-agile full-stack environment. Defining and contributing to engineering best practices within a dynamic organization, where you’re heard and trusted, interests you and establishes a setting for you to thrive.
