Job summary

DAT Freight & Analytics in Bengaluru, India seeks an Associate Software Engineer (Full Stack) to design and develop production-grade web apps within the IAM umbrella. You will work on account management hierarchies, user sign-up flows, self-service tools and internal support tooling.

You will contribute to migrating legacy modules to modern Node.js microservices and collaborate with product, UX, and engineering peers to deliver value with high-quality code and tests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related CS field.
• 2+ years of proven hands-on experience as a software engineer building production-scale products.
• Strong proficiency in the TypeScript ecosystem and Node.js for building microservices and REST/GraphQL APIs.
• Experience with modern web UI frameworks, preferably Angular, or React.
• Experience with relational or non-relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL).
• Knowledge of SOLID, design patterns, OOP, DI, and IoC containers.
• Understanding of Scrum/Agile, SDLC, CI/CD processes.

Job Description: Associate Software Engineer - Full Stack (BE Primary)

Role: Software Engineer - Account Management & Customer Support

General Timings: 2PM - 11PM IST

The Role

We are looking for an Associate Software Engineer who will be responsible for the design and development of production-grade, consumer-facing, and internal web applications within our Identity & Access Management (IAM) umbrella. You will be a key player in our Account Management domain, tackling complex B2B enterprise account hierarchies, user sign-up/conversion flows, customer self-service tools and internal customer support tools.

What You'll Do

• Build and Maintain: Develop reliable and maintainable web applications, modern microservices, and customer self-service tools for account management.
• Support Modernization: Assist in the ongoing migration of legacy hybrid/monolith TypeScript & Java backend modules to modern Node.js/TypeScript microservices.
• Write Quality Code: Produce modern, clean, efficient, and well-documented code while adhering to established coding standards and best practices.
• Test and Debug: Write robust unit, integration, and functional tests. Troubleshoot and debug production applications to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate: Work closely with product, UX, and fellow engineers to translate business requirements into technical implementations.
• Grow your Expertise: Develop deeper expertise in TypeScript, AWS solutions, and REST/GraphQL APIs while actively participating in design and code reviews.

The Skills and Experience You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related CS field.
• 2+ years of proven hands-on experience as a software engineer building production-scale products.
• Strong technical proficiency in the TypeScript ecosystem. Hands-on experience building robust microservices and REST/GraphQL APIs with Node.js (required).
• Experience with or working knowledge of modern web UI frameworks, preferably Angular, or alternatively React.
• Openness, willingness, and ability to navigate legacy complex modules (Java backend stack) to successfully extract and migrate domain services along with handling Salesforce account management modules.
• Experience with relational or non-relational database technologies (MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL).
• Deep understanding of software development best practices: SOLID principles, design patterns, OOP, dependency injection, and IoC containers.
• Solid understanding of standard engineering processes: Scrum/Agile, SDLC, CI/CD, etc.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Bonus Skills

• Working knowledge of or experience with event streaming systems (Kafka) or other messaging systems.
• Strong experience using or working knowledge of modern cloud providers, preferably AWS, or GCP, Azure.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Hands-on experience with serverless architecture (Lambdas, Fargate).
• Working knowledge of or experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) such as Terraform (preferred) or CloudFormation.
• Contribution to open-source projects or a strong GitHub profile.
• Strong interest or experience in integrating AI/LLM tools like Copilot, Claude Code, and MCPs into engineering workflows.
• Prior experience in IAM, B2B account hierarchies, or user management is a major plus.
