Jacobs in Bengaluru is seeking a Substation Cable Engineer to create detailed HV substation design drawings and calculations, collaborating with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to accurately represent plant layouts, equipment, and systems.

The HV Cable system Engineer ensures that all designs comply with industry standards and project specifications, facilitating the construction and maintenance of efficient and safe industrial facilities.

Qualifications

• BTech/ME/MTech with 15+ years of experience.
• Experience in CYMCAP or equivalent.
• Experience with civil coordination and layouts drawings.
• Analytical mind, rigorous and commitment.
• Professional English spoken and written.
• Member of IET or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Must have experience in HV cable system design (33kV to 400kV) and rating calculation using CYMCAP or similar software.
• Preparation of cable route sketches in 2D CAD.
• Demonstrate strong written communication in reports.
• Create Cable cross sections and schematics.
• Bonding and cable schematics.
• Prepare Joint pit bays and bill of materials.
• Produce Material Schedules & Technical specifications.
• Support bidding and technical proposals.
• Basic Civils 3D experience to check cable routing.
• Adhere to BSEN/IEC/IS/ANSI/Saudi standards, National Grid (UK/US), DNO/ENA standards.

As Substation Cable Engineer you are responsible for creating detailed design drawings and calculations for HV Substations .This role involves working closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to develop precise and accurate representations of plant layouts, equipment, and systems.

The HV Cable system Engineer ensures that all designs comply with industry standards and project specifications, facilitating the construction and maintenance of efficient and safe industrial facilities.

Essential Responsibilities

• Must have experience in HV cable system design (from 33kV to 400kV) and rating calculation (CYMCAP or similar software proficiency).
• Preparation of cable route sketches in 2D CAD.
• Ability to demonstrate good written communication skills including report writing.
• Create Cable cross sections.
• Cable schematics and bonding.
• Prepare Joint pit bays and bill of materials.
• Producing Material Schedules & Technical specifications.
• Support bidding and technical proposals.
• Basic experience in Civils 3D to check and review the cable routing
• Must have experience with BSEN/IEC/IS/ANSI/Saudi standards/National Grid (UK/US)/DNO/ENA standards.
